Easter Deals?

We don't do alot of chocolate or candies - so I have been collecting small toys since christmas - for DD I have purchased the small Friends Lego sets from TRU that were $4.99, GUMU erasers, littlest pet shop, a calico critters camping set (this will fill three eggs - a little pricey @ $20 but I purchased it in the US as I have never seen it here and DD is pretty sure that EB will bring Calico critters), for DS a couple or Bey Blades, some small lego sets (on clearence @ RCSS and small packs from TRU) and a few Skylanders (also a little $ but they r hard to find so I grab them when I see them - and they fit in large eggs). As for candy - small kinder egg each, some jelly beans and jube jubes. In their basket I would normally have summer stuff but we are set for chalk, bubbles, skipping ropes and sand/beach toys so I have to think about this a little more - they will each get a large kinder egg and some packs of gum.

i dont go all out for easter with my children i do a little easter egg hunt and have some fun with them :)

Thanks for sharing everyone. I stopped by Salvation army today and picked up some new with tags baskets and coloured grass! They also had a bunch of craft supplies (beads, yarn etc.) for practically nothing so I was pretty happy!

When I was a kid we use to do easter egg hunts but with real eggs and every egg you found you would get some chocolate money :) I would also look at Giant Tiger as well they have some good deals. I am going to go shopping this weekend for Easter stuff and see what I can find :)

Normally I...sorry...the easter bunny hits the clearance clothing rack at Giant Tiger and gets my boy clothes to go with his chocolate. This year the easter bunny spent way too much money at Shoppers Drug Mart on Cars 2 toys that he had pointed out he wanted. Never the less....20x the points was worth it!

With my kids being a little older now (15,16,16 &18) we gave up a few years ago on actual egg hunts it was simply to easy for them :)
So a few years ago we started doing a clue hunt instead. I make up about 20 clues for each kid (my nephew is usually with us to...so five kids in all.) I start by sending the first clue the there cell phones, each clue they find leads to the next clue locations...some clues are a little word search puzzle...last year I did a grade appropriate math equation, they really didn't like that lol but we got a really good giggle out of it :lolsign:. Others are just riddles that will lead to the next clue. Eventually the last clue leads them to the there basket and gifts!! As they have gotten older I tend to only give a little chocolate... now instead they get a couple spring outfits and usually a new pair of shoes and always new cleats, batting gloves and supplies for the upcoming season...we REALLY REALLY love baseball in our family! I find it a lot more useful to give clothes and such and they enjoy it more then some chocolate that lasts the day!!

Salvation Army, Goodwill, St. Vincent de Paul usually have very inexpensive "Easter Themed" little things to pick up.

Oh my goodness.....pussy willow fur babies? That's the cutest thing I've heard in a long time! What a cute idea!

I live in Brampton, and on my way to work I pass Create a Treat on Clarke near Airport.....it is the place the makes the sugar cookies and gingerbread house kits. They are open to the public Monday to friday 10-6. I haven't been in yet...going tomorrow. I will let you know how the prices are. :)

OK just got back from Create a Treat and you can get the Easter Egg cookie kits for $3.50 it has 12 cookies in it and lots of fun decorating stuff...also the Easter bunny house kits are $6 and they are chocolate. Oh and no tax.

Our sons are way too old for Easter egg hunts now. We usually get them new clothes and add in a couple of treats. I'll be heading to Metro this weekend to pick up some Realfruit gummies (1.99 x4 plus a box of Breton crackers.....mail in rebate when you buy 5 participating products) I'll spend 11.00 and get a 15.00 Metro gift card. WORKS FOR ME!!!!! Must include 1 Breton product in the combination. Also heading back to WM tonight to PM the Nestle single easter eggs...2 for .88 from No Frills.

My daughter needs a bike too so we think this will be an Easter gift too
