I completely agree. I wasn't able to breastfeed my first and couldn't believe the cost of formula. Luckily my second is breastfeeding!!
Definitely try to breastfeed

I say start with shoppers. I love their program. save your points and stock up on diapers and wipes . I would also save some points for after the baby as you always need things you arent planning or they react to a certain wipe brand or diaper brand

congratulations, this is a very exciting time for you. I hope that you get through the first few months feeling great! I agree with the above poster about not buying too much as far as clothing goes. You'll need a few good (new) outfits for taking the baby out. Most of the time the baby will spend in sleepers. It's a waste to spend a lot of money on clothing as the baby will grow so fast in the first few months, they change sizes very quickly. This is where it often pays off to go to stores that sell gently used clothing. You can purchase some clothing there and even trade it back in when you're done with it (if it's still in reasonable condition) I used to trade in the too small clothing and use the money from these clothes to purchase new clothing in the size that my little guy needed. Besides signing up for Pampers and Huggies you can sign up for Enfamil and Nestle online to recieve formula samples and coupons. (just in case) you never know something might happen that you may not be able to breast feed. I do believe that Johnson and Johnson also have a baby package that they give out as well.

My only advice (which I was recently given since I`m hoping to get pregnant) -- if you`re thinking of using a midwife, you need to sign up on the list now!

Congratulations. You still have time, enjoy the moment...Now you know about couponing you can start watching out for the deals.... Diapers, baby basics- etc. By the time your're ready you will have a stackpile. For Diapers remember babies grow fast, buy different sizes, not just newborns. Also, stack up on your sanitary pads...
