Zellers ANP - closing info and heads up

I heard from 2 reliable sources that the Zellers in Alexis Nihon will close December 17, 2012 -- possibly earlier, but not later.

And a heads up -- the store got a visit from the Health Department a couple of weeks ago. Most of the food section was taped off (I think it was the weekend of the 13th) and staff was cleaning the shelves and all the individual food items on the shelves with bleach. The store has been having a problem with mice for some time.

I know! I saw a woman return return a loaf a bread. She and her family had been eating from it and half way through they saw that the other end of the bag had been 'eaten through'. I often buy food from that Zellers but I think I'm done with that. Maybe canned food if I'm willing to wash every crevice... I hope Target does a major fumigation when they take over the property.

I work in the towers at alexis nihon and the other day the target people were there walking around with the floor plans.....

The problem is the same since many years. My father was a staff member of "Magasin M" and even 25 years ago, cockroachs, rats and mice were part of the ANP "lifestyle".

My goodness gracious...that is aweful and alarming. Thanks for the heads up on this, I don't usually travel downtown, but if I ever do...I will definately not be eating ANYTHING from that place or even taking the risk of buying food items from stores, unless they are in cans that I can wash before opening.

Just to be clear -- that video is not of the food court in ANP

But Zellers does have a restaurant and I have eaten or done take out from there a few times

Holy cow! I didn't realize that! I just replayed the video and for some reason I didn't get the end of the audio where they say it's ANP when I first played it. I thought it was someplace in the States!
