Those are supposedly qualifier HITs (to qualify for their trusted qual v2). They let people do a few, then they yank the qualification. Not sure why. I've kept it for a while and a few other people, but most have lost it. It's a temporary qualification though.
They've given trusted qual. to 12 or so new people recently.

That's pretty good, actually. You can defiitely do better though.
If you like writing at all, try some John Gaddy HITs. 150 words for $1, and they take about 5-15 minutes depending on the topic. He's a great requester, and he always has a ton of HITs available. Some people are making 50 bucks a day with him. I get bored of writing, so I only make about $10 on a good day with him. The other day, I whipped out 10 of them in an hour before I got bored.

I've made $1,604.14 since July'ish on mturk. I managed to get a DSLR camera, a laptop for my daughter, a wii, a part for my washer, and have only had to pay the taxes on them once they arrive at the door. I want everyone to start turking, just because you can make so much money ... well, get a lot of stuff anyway. I wish we could actually get the money. I'd turk a lot more if we could.
I have a Wii Fit Plus + board coming today. Unfortunately, the seller shipped with UPS Ground, and they charge crazy brokerage fees. Word of advice if you're ordering from Amazon -- make sure the seller ships either with the US Postal Service or Fedex International Priority, because brokerage fees are included, so you just pay the taxes at the door. Never buy from someone who ships using courier ground service.

You want to sign up as a worker, not a requester. You'll need an Amazon.com account too -- make that first, and set your correct address, because mturk will use that address.
