I live in a small town, with a local Co-Op and I have so much difficulty using coupons there.

I had some real fruit minis they were on sale 2 for $5, so I grabbed 2 different kinds, and had 2 different coupons. I got to the till and the cashier argued with me, that it said one per purchase.. ok.. but Im purchasing 2 in a transaction. Whats the differece, plus they were differ types and different coupons. ugh.
They do this to me all the time. I dont understand. I never have any troubles redeeming my coupons anywhere else. Like I go to walmart in the city, and can use 4 of the same coupons for 4 of the same product and they dont mind.

It makes me so mad when cashiers say this. I always say, well how many am i purchasing? that usually gets them. if not, then i say "one per purchase has always meant one per ITEM. it doesn't say one per customer, one per person OR one per transaction. then I could understand if it did." If all else fails, ask for the manager!

exactly. you are purchasing two. Next time ask them if they are giving you the second one for free and when they say, "Why would I" you say, "EXACTLY. I'm PURCHASING TWO."
    so frustrating!

    Cherie,

I always carry a coupon with me that says " 1 per customer" or "1 per transaction" . This way, after I ask to speak to the manager, I can CLEARLY show the difference. They usually understand it "my way" by the time I am done my "show and tell".

I once had a cashier at No Fills tell me "it doesn't matter WHAT the coupon says, we go by the picture on the front". I just looked at her and said "stop talking and get your manager please". She replied "they will tell you the same thing". I smiled and said "well, I'm not talking to the manager JUST about coupons... your attitude, tone and lack of customer service has suddenly made it to the top of my list" *SMILE*

Manager comes over... I said "lets have the cashier explain this to you" *SMILE*

Guess what........ YOU HAVE TO READ COUPONS! <--- WHO KNEW?!?!?!?!? LOL!!!!

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS ask for a mangager.

I dont think the manager will see it in the eyes of a couponer thou. One lady that works there says shes an avid couponer and 1 coupon per purchase means per tranasctions. I'm really starting to hate that store. And they only started making a "stink" about it after I started using LOTS of coupons..

    So... Do 500 Transacations. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!

    That will speed things up.

ps. If you do that for cheap items, like $1.... make sure you have LOTS of change to pay for all your transactions.

I got this last week at SOF - I was using catelli tearpad 'one per purchase' and buying 2 items (2 coupons) and the cashier said sorry, I can only accept one coupon. I said, I thought that meant one per item, she said 'no, transaction'

I had a very nice lady behind me and didn't want to wait for a manger, so I just said, ok I don't want them then!

But I agree, if the coupon had said per customer or transaction, that would have made more sense. But what do you do, I didn't feel like arguing, and I didn't NEED the pasta badly. This was the first time that had happened, but whatever! I'm happy I don't have more issues using coupons, and that most cashiers I've had have been excellent!

I know what store you are talking about and I don't even bother using coupons there. The manager has told a friend of mine that if she wants to start using coupons she can go else where! All she was doing was using a $1 off cpn. In fact I try and use that store as little as possible!! Virden doesn't have an issue accepting coupons at that Co-op. So if I don't feel like going all the way to Brandon I go to Virden.

I think I have only used 5 coupons there, and they were their coupons that they have at the till. It also depends on who is working!! Some are a bit better than others LOL! $40 if your lucky

CAN'T THE WORDING BE CHANGED ON COUPONS TO SAY "ONE COUPON PER ITEM"??????
That would solve a looooooooooooooooooooooot of hassle and arguing.
Isn't there a page out of somewhere legit that we can use to show them that one per purchase does not mean one per transaction???
