Thread: Double stroller help!
-
Fri, Jun 1st, 2012, 09:48 AM #1
i am looking to trade in my single stroller and move to a double stroller. The one condition is it much have an adapter for an infant car seat as I love this function and really looking for a side by side stroller rather than behind one another.
Has anyone every tried the BOB brand or Baby Jogger?
Any reviews comments or assistance is greatly appreciated.

I have not tried it personally, but I am in the same situation. I am expecting in August and would like a side by side with the infant adapter and everyone I speak to points me to the BOB Dullie. Good luck in your hunt!
Zia_Stephie really wants you as my swagbucks referral...PM me and I'll send you the link. Thanks!

i am expecting in august and i just purchased a graco duo-glider .. im in LOVE.. it glides so nicely! Only downfall is you have to have a Graco infant car seat in order to use with the stroller when going out, the graco infant car seats are the only ones that are compatable and will fit in the tray of the stroller
Good luck on your hunt

All our kids are close together, and we loved our DuoGlider! You might want to ask around to see which strollers parents preferred, as the side by side strollers are extremely difficult to maneuver anywhere where there are people around. As well, you probably wouldn't be able to use a side by side and get very far in stores (most stores barely leave room for singles between the racks).

I have the Peg Perego Aria. it is very light weight and folds up very flat. I know several people with the city select, and they seem to love it too.
One of my friends will be using it to transport 3. One in a car seat, one in a stroller seat and one child to stand on the back. If I was looking to replace my double, I would definitely consider that one - I like that it can accomodate 3, or a growing toddler that does not want to sit in the stoller anymore.

I've been using a Jeep sidebyside stroller. Not car seat compatible, and it's too low to take for long walks. That had never occurred to me, but if you're planning on walking make sure the handles are high enough to be comfortable.
It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.

Thanks i purchased the BOB and just awaiting its arrival now. I love how easy and lightweight it is. It will be mainly for walking/jogging around the block and naptimes.... not really for shopping as i dont go out much like that with two, then i have a single stroller and baby carrier

The sit and stand didnt work for me bc if my son wants to nap we are stuck then, no place for him to go.

The bob jogging stroller that you can attach a small part at the bottom for the smaller child - You've probably seen them.. its like a regular jogging stroller with the attachment in the bottom that is basically like an oversized basket underneath.. I've never used it but that may be a good one - I've also seen infant car seats in them..
Another is the double jogging stroller that is sold in babiesrus, I've used it before and it is really nice.. The issue would be when shopping with it.. It is quite Wide. And it is also heavy I need two hands to fold and unfold.
I really recommend a jogging type stroller when you are pushing 2+ kids - because its easier...
Yes, I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE baby jogger products - they are amazing. If you can afford to buy one, you will love it. They are sooo light weight and you can fold the single one (kind I've use) in one hand while holding a kid in the other. They are also super light.
I don't really recommend anything tandam.. They tend to be really uncomfortable and tiring to push.
A few things to consider:
*Your height and whether it is comfy where your hands are situated.
*How much weight the stroller can hold - the more it can hold the better, because your older little one will probably want to ride in it still sometimes even when they are around 5yrs.
*Folding mechanism - preferable a one hand folding stroller is best, because sometimes you don't have somewhere to put your little one down while unfolding.
*The front wheels - double strollers are well-known for their bad front wheels. Try to get a stroller with larger sized wheels. The smaller the wheels the harder it is to turn the stroller left or right.
*Brakes - MUST BE THERE first of all, but they also need to be strong. If they still slightly turn after you have stopped the stroller and applied the brakes, and then pushed it with the brakes on. It shouldn't move (other than skidding).
*Wiggle the stroller - The less wiggly the better. The more wiggly the less time it will last, you can tighten the bolts on it.. But often they will loosen again and chances are you don't have a whole lot of time to spend tightening bolts..I've set up 3 trains.Still loading. If you are interested, links are on my userpage.
No, this isn't your coffee, I had a two for one coupon!

Make sure if you buy in the states it is only for the stroller and not the car seat as the car seats are illegal in Canada.

I currently am using the Baby Jogger Side by Side for my twins and I love it! It moves so easily and so easy to turn too. That's the first thing my mom commented on. We initially used a Tandem but hated it because it was too long to turn between aisles. It is very lightweight for it being a double stroller. It also fits through most single doorways. Ours was a 2011 model which the downside was the bag compartment is hard to get to, but that doesn't bother me. I bought hooks to hang my bag, and put smaller bags in the compartment instead of a big diaper bag. The 2012 model doesn't have that problem but I think it is more expensive. Very easy to push because it is very light. I would think it will be much suitable for babies older than 1 or 1.5 years old because the harness even at the lowest level, the strap touches my twins' ears. But I have seen others put newborns in it because the seat can recline all the way down. Another downside is that it doesn't come with any bellybars nor cup holders, you have to buy separately, which can make this stroller very much more expensive. The sun shades can go really down to cover the baby which not many strollers have that feature. Very easy to fold, 1 fold technology, but being a double stroller you do have to pull it with a bit of strength in order to fold. I am very skinny and not many muscles, but I was still able to do it. Overall I love it, and enjoy pushing it at the malls and outside to the park. Very good quality too so far.
