Just curious to know where folks buy their seeds and plants. I'm in St-B so I go to Jardins St-Léon and the greenhouse next door. Last year, I had a bunch of CT $ I used for seeds there...Just wondering if anyone has any "leads" on good, cheap places. Hopefully the nice weather will hold out so we can put in the garden.

I have a small garden (the width of my single car garage) and have strawberries and grow cucumbers in containers. Just make'm climb up!

Did you get to plant on the weekend? Too wet for me to get into my community garden plot.

At the same time I had some casaba melons grow out from the compost pile on top of the manure pile and they did amazing with no assistance! I think they are great fun plant for kids, so worth the headache. Cantaloupe has a shorter season than e.g., mini watermelons so you may like to take a look at them.

Tomatoes, you forgot the tomatoes! Last year we had a bumper crop but had blossom end rot becasue the plants were magnesium deficient from making up that many tomatoes. This year I will fix them up with 1/2 tsp epsom salts per liter of water, 'cause now I know. (Last year they just got Miracle Gro Tomato...will use that again but need the extra magnesium as well.)
oooh good to know about the cantaloupe.

I have bought quite a bit from St. Leon's and neighbouring green house as well. I highly recommend the Purple Angel Trumpet they have for a nice showcase flower. (appx 4.00ea)

I miss the Groupon etc type deals that they had last year for nurserys and garden centres. They sure helped stretch the garden budget.
This year I also bought some from Walmart and Home Depot and Superstore.
Haven't really found any good deals for plants this year.
