So dh and I will be going out this week/weekend to look at a new (to us) car. We are in the market for a small crossover-ish type vehicle. Are there any suggestions that you have to help us save money and also say no to??? Any help is greatly appreciated. We've never had to buy a car before, they have always been family/friend cars that we bought

Toyota Rav4 or Honda CRV...stay away from Chrysler products. Go to the library and check out Consumer Reports...they have issues that deal specifically with used vehicles.

Purchase as close to the end of the month as possible. This is when salespeople and the dealership are trying to meet quotas.
Definitely use ConsumerReports. You can often find a code online for a free trial subscription to their online site.....then cancel before the end of the trial (and nothing is paid).
