Grab the items that you want to purchase, make sure the total before tax is 90$ or 200$, if you have coupons, make sure your total after coupons are 90$ or 200$, go to cash register, let the cashier scan everything for you, ask her to tell you the subtotal before tax. Now, you can decide whether you want to redeem 40,000 for 90$ off or 80,000 for 200 off, let the cashier know you want to redeem that amount of points, she finds the option and voila, you get 90$ off or 200$ off!

Is it for certain that the tax cannot be covered by the redemption?
