Yesterday I went to by a flat of raspberries (12 of the little squares) $60.00!!! Does that not seem really expensive? I'm sure last year I paid only about $35.00. Needless to say I felt awful, but didn't buy them.

What are you paying in your area -- maybe the dry weather has increased the cost?

    Wow, I swear I just saw a half-flat for $10 or something.

Seriously though, just buy a couple raspberry plants now when they're on clearout and plant them. They grow like weeds, we've had them in our yard as long as I can remember and my mom keeps cutting down the edges because they grow and grow and grow. We get buckets full every summer.

My raspberries are just starting to ripen, but I've been buying them in the stores for the past month or so. The larger size (340g), I won't pay more than $2.50. I don't know how much I could get them for locally. I couldn't believe in the winter time, stores were asking $4 for a tiny (170g) package of blueberries or raspberries! I guess it's better for you than junk food.

We eat tons of fresh berries, and I have to PM at WM almost every time to get blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and raspberries. I have gotten them cheaper, but last night it was this.

Raspberries 10 containers-6 oz each, PM to FB for $1.48 each,
    2 x blueberries ( 1 dry U.S.pint) $1.50 each, PM from a small place called Foody Mart,
2 x strawberries ( 1 lb) for .98 each PM from Foody Mart.
Bananas .36 a pound, PM from Oriental Food mart

I also scored big with my veggies too.
    Zucchini .28 per lb.
Hot house tomatoes .48 per lb.
    English cucumbers 2 for .99

It also depends on where you live. As with everything else, different parts of the country have different prices on all produce. I purchase just 1 package the other day at NF. They were on sale for 1.29 for the large container. I wanted to buy a bunch to put into the freezer, but I couldn't get a toothpick in there right now
