I have a pink Lilly with 11 blooms and one more to open. I have been waiting a month for this, it was well worth it.
Beautiful :)

no snickering Patty, but I picked 6 healthy long green beans from my Scarlet runner plant yesterday, I just had stopped looking because there was never anything but lots of red flowers, no beans. I was so excited I cooked them in the nuker in a tblsp of water lol! ate them up Mmmmm , so fresh!
My snow pea harvest is o.k. though, I eat them raw every couple of days I can find a nice handful
@Patty-could you treat the beans like you would the dried ones you get at the store and soak them overnight on the counter then cook them in a stew?
The rose bushes with most canes have no flower buds on the go. No more nonsense-I trimmed them back as some of the leaves and canes look bad as well. There are two tiny rose bushes with rose buds! Hope they bloom soon as their leaves too are looking worse for summer (thanks, beetles).

All beautiful but those carrots are exceptional! I bet they taste fantastic! :)
They are out of this world. The Cosmic Purples are fun for kids as they are purple on the outside, bright orange inside, and look cool when sliced. The Jaune Obtus de Doubs are pale orange - almost yellow - and I really like their flavour.
I bought a pack of mixed carrot seeds from The Cottage Gardener to try next summer - white, red, purple, and yellow carrots. Can't wait!
I was also browsing through the Baker Creek Heirloom Seed site, and they have some really rare heirloom carrot varieties, including black ones!
Maybe next year I'll try carrots. I wanted to this year but I decided to do green beans instead :)
Glad to hear they taste as good as they look!
The cat :P
Well, seems someone payed switcheroo at the nursery with the name tags on the "cantaloupe" I planted because they are anything but cantaloupe. I think they are some kind of zucchini. I have no clue what kind :(
Bahaha, soooo I was given what I thought was a mystery squash... but after all the blossoms I hand pollinated with other female squash blooms from my garden aborted I came to the conclusion it must be a melon.... anyone have any idea what KIND of melon this is ? I googled pics of young watermelons and they seem to have dark streaks , not really like this :confused7:
