I still have KALE and we had -10 one night :P
-25 that is all
LOL, I was thinking wow, maybe someone from BC posted here!
Sorry you guys got hit with the bad temps, Patty - it's a little colder than that here, too. Ick.
I'm going to have to get a house plant - I miss at least some greenery. Very sad that the one I had somehow got 'lost' when we moved.
My son called it the resurrection plant - I had brought that thing back to life so many times over so many years, I lost count - even when down to a bare stem. Don't even have a clue as to what it was, will have to google images some day to find out. It wasn't a big or very beautiful plant, it was just stubborn!
Natalka, I've got a house full of plants.. you really should get at least one, it helps immensely, especially if you get a flowering one :)
I woke up this morning and it's snowing again. It's so depressing and crappy out there, I thought I'd post a few little cheer-us-up pictures :)There is a light at the end of the icy tunnel.... somewhere.....
I think this is a really cute idea, I might try something like this this year

Hope that helped a bit :)
Ah..... they all look so lovely!
Will really have to make gardening plans for this year, since we are in a different place and have such a huge yard, both front and back.
This tread is really helpful for me because i want to make a garden in my yard.
that did help a bit :) its been so bad lately, even my houseplants are suffering because the heat is turned up and its drying up the air.
I would like a figurine for my balcony garden but having trouble finding it. I'd like a mother nature type figurine, but only see fairies everywhere.
Ok - to keep you all in suspense - I will tell you what I noticed for the past couple of weeks:
Camelias have buds that look like they will bloom in another few weeks
Evergreen clematis - am surprised the blooms have not opened yet - they are pretty much ready
2 x Eucalyptus trees are all in their green finery
Snow drops beside the house have buds - but I guess I don't go by at the right time of day - they are not open
Hyacinths are now almost 4 inches tall
.....And then...... it snowed.

Vancouver Island, eh? Welcome to the rest of Canada. :P
Vancouver has been gorgeous the past week or so, I have to keep reminding myself its only February and not to get too excited. But I did clear out about half of my garden plot today. Next half gets tackled tomorrow! :-)
All that's "blooming" in our backyard are frozen piles that my doggies have been cultivating and then they are "flash-freezing" before I can pick them up!
This is all that is blooming in our yard too, [ATTACH]214486[ATTACH] but at least the seed catalogs are starting to come in. Attachment 214488
Snow blooming here like crazy too!!!
