Hello,
I would like to ask if cell phone companies are still allowed to charge this fee. Someone told me today that it got abolished long time ago.

I thought it was only the network connection fee to landlines that disappeared a little while ago. As far as I know, the system connection fee or whatever it is that they charge $35ish dollars or so is still alive and well for at least the past 15 years. You used to be able to call in and ask them to credit your bill for the fee if you asked nicely. I haven't found too many agents willing to do this lately though.

I think they've passed a law so that System Fee is removed. But the way I see it, only new plans have it removed, old plans still have it. Also the new plans are a bit more expensive and they still include the fee in their plan, but they don't show it though.
