sharkie...I think you have hit on something here. Pride, why do we at sc feel that pride? Just because we can save a buck? Hardly. It is because we came for the savings, but stayed for the laughs, the opportunities to learn how to give back, to raok, to pass onto another what we are not using. We can come to realize our complaints about our lives are bitter pills once we hear of another's worse life experiences. We also see ourselves ( warts and all ) in other members posts and then happily flaunt our own shortcomings in full support!
We are weirdos, that is for sure. The best kind of weirdos.

This thread is a great idea!

When I first joined SC I was not working because of some health problems and I was struggling financially. Couponing helped me get through a difficult time. I am amazed by the kind and generous members of this community. It is nice to know we are not alone in our struggles. I appreciate the kindness and support of all my SC friends. TY!

Proud to be an SCer firstly, because of the savings. It astonishes me how much I have learned and how far my stockpile has come. Secondly, the generosity of all members; whether through charitable donations, raoks, etc. have inspired me to pay it forward. For the first time in forever, even though I don't have any money since I chose to stay home with DS, I am able to make multiple donations to charities. Very good feeling. Thirdly, being at home and isolated to an extent, I needed the companionship and contact with the "outside world". I came here to find savings, and stayed because of the sense of community and family.

Well, where do I start from. First I must say thanks to my co-worker who told me about this site. Now I am addictied.. I have learned so much from all of you, I am so greatful. I am now such a smart shopper, thanks to my teachers on SC. I have saved alot of money that we didnt have, not to mention the free stuff I get. This allows me to send money to help my parents back home and when I go home I can pack my barrel out of my stockpile.. I use to run out of essentials at home, like bath soaps, toilet paper, some groceries stuff and my DH would say, "How comes we dont have any ketchup, or how comes there is no cornation milk???and I would feel bad (lol) , now when they ask, I just reach in my stockpile, no more blaming mom for not having extra Pancake syrup...DH does not go to the store to get anything without asking me if I have a coupon... even to CT to get car parts...Wow... Thank you , thank you... I love it.

P.S... SC, next time you plan to update the site, please have a backup site for us to view, it was SSSoooooo depressing those couple of days the site went down..BTW, I love the updated site
