Well our baby geese appear to be full grown and you can't
tell them apart from the parents however the baby swans
are still small and follow mom & pop at a very close distance.
You have to see how protective the parents are when the
boats get a little close... they are beautiful these swans.
These are homing/racing pigeons Skippy.
My neighbor breeds and races them and I believe that the bands are his identification numbers.
They really are very neat birds, and apparently where they are raised is where they will always return to.
He has a few birds left from when he lived at his last house, and these ones can't get loose or they will end up back at his old property, but the ones that have been born since he has owned this place, can go free, and always return to their coop.
BTW
The neighbor has been gone to Saskatchewan to visit his 80 year old sister, so I am on Bird duty until they return, and garden duty also :)
We think we have spotted a American Redstart a few times? But not tottally sure I haven't seen his white belly, but the orange on his wings yes. We live in the Eastern Townships.http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...n_redstart.jpg
Also theres lots of bird sounds on the net you just have to do a search.
Heres a couple of birds at the bird feeder last winter, The Hairy Woodpecker and Blue Jay.
