Since Zellers stopped giving reward points on prescriptions years ago I had never thought to see if I would get the points on the needles. My cat is diabetic and I've gotten her needles and insulin at Zellers for a year now. Today it donned on me that the needles aren't a prescription so maybe I could get points on them. I asked and the cashier said no, but then she said well lets see if it goes through anyways. The points went through, not on just the needles but on the insulin too. 9900 extra points for me!

Nice! I never knew that SDM gave Optimum Points on over the counter stuff like that until one SC'er (Kid something, name not coming to me now!) posted that they got points on their insulin etc. The last 20x day we bought mom's needle tips and sure enough got 20x the points on them! My parent's are on a drug plan (thank god as she uses over $700 a month in insulin!!) so can't get points on that but will buy needles and stuff there on 20x days again!
Not sure which you covet more, HBC Points or SDM points but you can do it with both stores!Is it baseball season yet?

Since these are for my cat, there's no coverage. Kitty is not on my drug plan
I always buy at either Zellers or Walmart as they're quite a bit cheaper then SDM for insulin and needles. Zellers and Walmart are pretty much the same price so will stick to buying them at Zellers now.

Wouldn't previous receipts have said you could earn x# of points by using the points card? But that is great that you can earn points on that but to bad you didn' find out sooner.
