SDM has replaced the coupon policy they just put up days ago (?) (the one that printed as a memo) with a new version:

Despite this new policy, when I called SDM they tell me that FPCs are not supposed to receive points!
OMG, what a way to run a company...

It basically states the same thing that was posted a few days ago, but looks more like an official policy than the previous one, which felt like an internal memo. It does not refer to coupon codes 2001/2002...., or to sending coupons for remittance to Resolve Canada, ... More polished to me, but same content. Again, it leads us to believe that coupon value counts toward 20x or 18500 promos total. Since it makes no difference between FPC & "normal" manufacturer coupons, I would interpret as both would count (however, I've learned to much by reading on this forum to think it is so simple...).
I just don't know... I hope they continue to give points on coupon, and just give them on FPC as well. If the policy is quite new, it might take time for the cash registers to get adjusted. I think we should wait to "test" the system in a few weeks.

Just spotted that thread in the brag section:
http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/301654-...points-canada/
The poster showed her SDM receipt. It looks like her Nexxus coupon were entered as 2002 like FPC, and she got points on them! That's really encouraging, we might really get points on FPC... I'll now have to chose between using them at Metro or here.
Side note, do you guys get receipts with 2001/2002 codes for your coupons? Mine just shows "Vendor Coupon" (well, the French equivalent!)
-----
So, 10 Nexxus @ 2.99, 20x points
10x2$=20$
19x points = 3800 bonus point
No base points, but still 20x points!Last edited by rewok; Thu, Jun 14th, 2012 at 07:49 PM.

That IS encouraging But the whole no base points confuses me because SDM told me if base points are not given by the cash then bonus points (i.e. 20x pts ) cannot be given. [talking about during points events]
Silk
ETA: I just went to the post. This is totally different that 20x the points events. I have been able to do this kind of thing in the past also, as well as use bp coupons on fpcs. So the question about how the fpcs will ring up during the points events is still up in the air.Last edited by Silk; Thu, Jun 14th, 2012 at 08:17 PM.

I've mostly given up on SDM. I've been given such a hard time over getting points on GCs, buying transit passes with GCs, made to feel like a criminal over other transactions, plus I don't get their flyers anymore. I rarely bother with them except for prescriptions.

I am so confused reading all of this! so do coupons count towards the 20x purchase? I had a problem where head office took 5340 and told me that I was "double dipping" on a 20x offer day. I freaked out when I called head office and all the chick on the phone would say is that I was double dipping. I ended up going to the manager at the store and he restored the points to my account. He was very helpful and couldn't understand why head office was saying that. I will only now shop at the Centre Mall location in Hamilton. So this weekend--am I looking to have to spend the full 50$?

This receipt didnot show me that the base points are given, no base points no 20 x event points. This only show me she got product bonus points same as redemption day, you get bonus points. The 20 x events use base points to calculate the bonus points, however, let's hope the dollars total add up to get reward like buy $50 and get GC, 18500 points etc.
