Well the minimum wage in Ontario will go up to $11/hr come June 1st. This is good as a wage increase is long overdue, however lets call it what it is: A Bribe from Wynne to the people of Ontario in order to make them all forget about Dalton.

CHARGED! Both Patrick Brazeau (CON) and Mac Harb (LIB) have had charges of Fraud and Breach of Trust laid against them by the RCMP in the Senate Scandal. I'd say I'm happy, but sadly, watching politics unfold in this Country means that they'll weasel their way out of a conviction. It's a start I guess.

*Note* Harb left the Senate entirely while Brazeau is a suspended Independent at the moment.

That threw me when I found out..sounded like an attempt to have an old style House of Lords system while I was expecting more of a USA/Australian type of Senate.

I couldn't agree more Gryphon! NO ONE, I repeat NO ONE, should be allowed to have a job and never be able to lose their job short of killing someone. AND having to be convicted of it to do so. And they certainly shouldn't be allowed the comfy position, salary and pension that position brings and not be elected.

I'm all for an elected Senate. I think it's one of the few things the US has right.

Rock hits train in French Alps

Two people were killed when a falling boulder derailed a tourist train in the southern French Alps, local officials and firefighters say.
At least nine people were injured.
The train was travelling from Nice to the town of Digne-les-Bains on a line which crosses gorges and viaducts at up to 1,000m (3,200ft) above sea level.
Images from the scene show the two-carriage train dangling from the tracks, the side of one carriage caved in by the rock.
Local prosecutor Stephane Kellenberger told AFP news agency that one of the dead was a Russian woman, while the other victim came from the Alps region.
One of the injured is said to be in a critical condition, while the others, including the driver, are reported to have sustained lighter injuries.
"A rock the size of a car came off the mountainside and slammed into the first car of the train,'' Jean Ballester, mayor of nearby Annot, told BFM television.

Wow. Justin Trudeau must be a huge threat to Stephen Harper. Their desperation to discredit Justin is getting sad. They are planning to interrupt communications at the Liberal convention and otherwise try to make Trudeau look like an idiot. Leaked documents read:

The game plan, laid in out Conservative party documents obtained by the Star, spells out the objective in three words: “drive, disrupt, disunity.”

The six-page note says the Conservatives’ goal is to “drive our narrative” which it lays out: “Trudeau in over his head, has poor judgment, only interested in legalizing marijuana VS. PM’s strong, stable leadership, focused on what matters most to Canadians.”

The note even muses about “more gimmicky ideas,” such as distributing ZigZag rolling papers screened with Trudeau’s face and the Liberal logo to put a focus on the Liberal leader’s comments about the legalization of marijuana.
