do you have to get to stores to take advantage of an advertised deal?
    especially no frills!
i always waste my time going there...and walmart.

Thats a good question! I want to partake the No Frills sale too. I hate driving all the way out there to find all the good stuff gone.

I go to No Frills for 7:50am, I pay my loonie/quarter to get my cart and it's like christmas shopping when they open the door people run in to get their stuff.....I usually go to Walmart after No Frills and still get the deals.

I know the feeling! I've shown up as soon as Walmart (Bridgewater) opens, no crowds but every item I wanted is completely cleared off the shelf...very weird...I've got a good mind to show up Thursday night just to see what the heck is going on, LOL!

Usually Walmart flyer prices are in the system thursday, so you can get the deals before the flyer actually begins. Same as Giant Tiger (their's are usually available on wednesday). It makes it very frustrating for people who do wait until friday morning.

Depending on the item, I've been there before 8am. Last week was like the Cabage Patch Kids rampage from the 80's where people were fighting and ripping things out of your hands...........Crazy! and the cashier said its like that every friday.

Wal-Mart, I go thursday night after 9pm to get the sales. I discovered they did it when baby food would go on sale and by 8:30am there was none left. It didn't make sense so I went the night before and low and behold everything in the flyer was already on sale.
I mostly price match every other flyer at WalMart, except Pharmasave....It's locally owned.

That's not just the sale items! That's everything. I have so many rain checks from WalMart that I had to make a special section in my coupon binder for them. They haven't had Heinz Tomato soup on the shelf since March, or Gillette Fusion replacement blades (I'm sure there's a heck of a lot more) They have spots on the shelves for these things, but they're always empty.

I don't go to NF very often, it's a bit of a PITA for me to get there, so I don't bother unless there's some stuff I really want. And I will usually go on a weekday if possible, and as close to opening as possible. Not worth the trip to go all that way when they don't have the stuff!
