North Vancouver Meeting

Hi everyone! I’m a newbie who just moved to North Van (been couponing since the beginning of January). I’ve been wanting to come to one of the Vancouver Coupon Group's meetings ( http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/131541-vancouver-area-meetings-canada/ ) for a while, but I’m having trouble making it out due to my schedule with my son, I don’t drive AND I’m taking a class on Saturdays! So…

A suggestion was made to hold a meeting in North Van, so if anyone would like to come, the first meeting will be:

Date: Sunday, February 20
Place: Capilano Mall Food Court, 935 Marine Drive – there’s a Walmart in the mall, how handy! Plus other big stores just down the road (Pricesmart, etc.)
Time: 11am - ?

I’m really looking forward to finally meeting fellow couponers face to face. My friends think I’m a little crazy, but I bet they won’t when I start getting really good at this!

I’ve got loads of coupons to trade, I’m just getting them organized and will be putting up a trade list as soon as I get a free hour or two, lol! This will be my first meeting, so I’m glad McMinsen is coming so I can see how it’s done. From what I gather, we bring all the coupons we’re willing to let go of and it’s a free-for-all--sounds like fun!

So come on out to the meeting, everyone from any area is welcome!!

Yup, I'll be there, too! It's just like a coupon pot luck. Bring what you have to offer but don't put out any stuff that you really want to keep. And just like at a pot luck we share and maybe wait until later in the meeting to go for second or third helpings.

BTW, I was at the Safeway on Lonsdale (at 13th St.?) on Wednesday and they have a lot of the new Smartsource store coupons, including Hunt's, Jane's, Premium Plus etc. etc. This store is one of the first ones I go to now if I suspect that the new coupons are coming out somewhere.

Awesome, thanks for the tip!! I haven't really been collecting them in stores yets since it's so time consuming and a crap shoot, but now that I've been tipped off...well! Safeway, here I come!

Another heads up for North Shore coupon hunters. I spent most of my afternoon today hunting for coupons in that neck of the woods and here's some info on a few things I found.

First, at the Safeway on Lonsdale, they have a FULL shelf of these Christmas theme packs of Glad Cling Wrap (with 3 coupons on the pack! see below) on clearance. Don't quote me, but I think the price was 2/$4. So, IF you were going over there anytime soon and IF you happened to have a Glad coupon to use, then now is the time to do it.

There seemed to be fewer coupons there (Lonsdale Safeway) today than there was last Wednesday, but I think Dana mentions in her thread about the new coupons (see link below) that the coupon reps come by the stores once a week to replenish the supply. My strategy would be to go to the Lonsdale Safeway on Thursday or Friday to see a replenished supply of coupons. That's my guess.

There was a fair to moderate selection of coupons at various other stores (SDM, IGA, Save On), very little at London Drugs and Extra Foods and none (that I could find) at Walmart or Pricesmart. Keep in mind that could change anytime but that was my assessment today.

The stand out for me today was the new Thrifty Foods down on Marine Drive. Here's what I found there:

-$1 off Kraft Parmesan Cheese, exp. April 30 '11 (end of aisle display)
-.50 off Shake 'n Bake Crust, exp. Dec.31 '11 (free standing display)
-$1 off Highliner Pan-Sear Selects, exp. Aug.31 '11
-Melt Magazine, w/three .50 off cheese coupons inside, exp. June 30 '11 (deli display)
-.50 off any Sharwood's (NED)
-.40 off any Golden Dragon (NED)
- VH booklets w/$10 in coupons inside (small free standing display across from the fresh fish counter)
-$3 off WUB4 Kraft, exp. April 30 '11 (display near cash registers)

Those last two are HOTTT.

I will be there. I just started in January as well. It would be great to get some advice on which stores are better and how to stack..etc

It's a beeeeyoootiful day! Just getting ready to go. Keep in mind, I don't think the mall doors open until 11:00 AM so we'll see y'all in the food court just after. I'll be wearing my white cap with "Provincetown" on it.

I'm new to SmartCanucks and couponing.......saw that there are some people in North Vanc....I was wondering if you have a meeting/get together planned for the near future??
