RIP Andy Griffith.
Oh, my - he was quite the man, passed away at 86.
I watched his initial show through reruns, but I was a huge Matlock fan!

I always felt " safe " watching his show, sounds silly. He was a Dad I admired, even though he was a tv dad.
I was really sad when I heard the news yesterday. When I was 3-4, my Dad would come home from work every day for lunch. He would eat and then the two of us would sit and watch an Andy Griffith rerun on TV. It was a really special time for just Dad and me, and I have many fond memories of my Dad doing this. As he worked really long hours, especially in his busy season, sometimes this was the only real "quality time" I'd get to spend with my Dad in a day. So sad, but such good memories.
I watched him in Matlock reruns.
Sad that he died, but he had some good years.
Ernest Borgnine has died.
AWWWW I loved him :(, I 've seen so many of his movies and just the other day saw him in RED with Bruce Willis
We had to study this movie in High School, ( Marty ) what a role for him, made his career!
R.I.P. Mr Borgnine

Loved The Dirty Dozen

Borgnine-Dom Santini of Airwolf. I used to joke about the shows of the 1980s-computerized car (Knight Rider), helicopter (Airwolf) and motorcycle (StreetHawk). If only Riptide had a computerized boat...
I loved both these actors.
RIP Jon Lord

Kitty Wells - Queen of Country Music - died at 92
Attachment 128361
She was the first female singer to reach the top of the country charts with her 1952 song “It Wasn’t God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels."
Wells was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1976.
She garnered 35 Billboard Top Ten records and 81 charted singles.
Among her many honors, she was given the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1991, the same year as Bob Dylan and John Lennon were so honored.
She was just the third country singer to be get that most prestigious award, after Hank Williams and Roy Acuff.

Another actor passed away Tuesday at the age of 75 - Chad Everett, whom I knew from the '70s tv show Medical Center where he played Dr. Joe Gannon.
He was a major hunk with amazing blue eyes!

Everett's daughter, Katherine Thorp, said he died Tuesday at his home in Los Angeles after a year-and-a-half-long battle with lung cancer.
Everett is survived by his two daughters, Katherine and Shannon, and six grandchildren. He was married to actress Shelby Grant for 45 years until her death last year.

Tony Martin dies aged 98
Quote:
Veteran American singer and actor Tony Martin has died at the age of 98.
He was best known for such romantic 1950s ballads as There's No Tomorrow and To Each His Own, and his 60-year marriage to dancer Cyd Charisse.
A peer of Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra, Martin also starred in movie musicals from the 1930s to the '50s, alongside stars such as Judy Garland.
Business manager Stan Schneider said he had died "peacefully" of natural causes at his Los Angeles home on Friday.
Hm... I didn't know who Tony Martin was, even though I know of Cyd Charisse.
Maeve Binchy, though... what a legacy she has left with her amazing writing; I've read many of her books, and loved them all!
