San Diego Sheriff's Department Says 16-Year-Old Hannah Anderson Found Safe in Idaho

The man suspected of abducting 16-year-old Hannah Anderson has been killed in Idaho and the teen has been found safe, say police.

DiMaggio was also suspected of killing Hannah’s mother, 44-year-old Christina Anderson, and her 8-year-old brother Ethan, whose bodies were found last Sunday night in DiMaggio’s burning house near the Mexico border.

DiMaggio is wanted on suspicion of murder and arson in a search that began in California and spread to Oregon, Washington, Nevada, British Columbia and Mexico

Thank goodness she was found alive! This guy sounded like a real creep taking a liking to younger girls. I really pray he didn't molest or rape her or anyone else for that matter.

That's been hitting my FB feeds a lot in the past few days...I'm expecting that they will re-occur in the future and EVEN when I point out that the case has been closed, people will still re-post "because it may help some-one esle(sic)"..

I'm pleased that Ms Anderson has been found and I hope she has close family members and friends who can help her come to terms with what must have be a truely horrible ordeal.

These happen more often then you read. But the media goes bonkers when it's a white middle or upper class female that goes missing.

Sounds like the guy was going to attempt to live with her in mountains!! What a super creep!

The air was filled with smoke blown in from distant wildfires, and that made both flying and seeing the ground tough, Dearden said. The law enforcement commanders decided to send in an FBI Hostage Rescue Team immediately to get Hannah while they could.

The mountainous area is extremely steep, and the closest point where the helicopters could drop the team was more than a two-hour hike away. The agents crept close to the camp, waited until DiMaggio and Hannah separated, and then moved in.

I'm well aware of Missing White Woman Syndrome..

I was refering to the fact that internet memes are frequently reguritated as some-one discovers the shocking abduction of some-one else and promptly sends the multi-forwarded e-mail, picture, rumour without checking first to see if it's current, solved or a load of bollocks to all and sundry and totally block up my social networks...

I'm still getting the Shawn Hornbeck story from time to time as well as several others for whom the outcome wasn't as pleasant. And tsunami boy (2004) still makes an appearance once a year from a truely gullible internet "friend". " If it was your child" she keeps bleating...
