Big WIn!

I was just notified that my hubby ( I entered for him he HATES contesting) we won the contest from Chrysler Canada for a trip for 4 to the Teen Choice Awards in California. Whoa woo .. am flying out on Sunday to expedite our passports as its on Aug 5th. My question is the Approximate value is $17,500.00 its airefare for 4 (economy) from either Calgary Edmonton or Vancouver to La and 3 nights accomodation ( double occupancy and 4 tickets to the 2012 teen choice awards. Now thats what it says in our letter, however I am hard pressed to see how it can be worth that much. Don't get me wrong I am not complaining just wondering .. the tickets to the show are worth about $100 each airfare from Vcr is at the most $1200 each so that is $5200.00 plus hotel??? Am I missing something here?

I believe there is also Limo Service to and from the Airport, to and from the awards, swag bags, Don't forget the 4 of you get Double occupancy for 3 nights each... That alone in Los Angeles is worth big bucks... Congratz & enjoy !

They calculate the air fare price at retail, so as for the hotel costs, you pay the sale price when you book your air ticket on line or from agent.

Awesome! Do you know the name of the hotel? BTW I went to LA in June and I suggest that if you want to do activities over there, with the exception of most of the citytours, you better book the activities on line and before you go. A lot of activities are quikly sold out, some ask to be reserve at least 24h or even 48h before the activities and of course, you can probably have a better price will all the coupons code that you can find online than the price at the ticket booth.

I don't think transportation or meals are included. This is what the contest page says:

If you don't have the transportation from the Airport included, check for a limo. The cab will cost you about 60$ for the ride, the shuttles are at 15$ per person (for it will be 60$) and take up to 10 persons so before you arrive at your hotel you must do a couple of stop, you can take the public transportation but do you really want to do this with your lugage? Limo service start at 35$ so it's worth it to get inform about it!

Thanks Everyone, I am very excited, lots of drama at our house last night my teenager took his Birth Cert to get his "L" and of course cant find it. I am flying to Vcr to expedite our passports and have a new cert coming to me on Tuesday. The Drama OMG all worth it.!I have never won anything this big before, I sent in the consent and release forms, i did ask the lady about the value . Not being greedy by any means just on a tight budget so I need to know ahead of time etc. I wonder though it was drawn on the 23rd of June and we got notified yesterday .. Not much notice?? 4 tickets from Edmonton/Calgary is at the most with Air Canada now for Aug 4 900 per person .. from Vcr its around 700 .. does anyone know the best way to get tickets I tried the Southern California (SOCAL tickets) you save a lot for 3 days to Disneyland, a day to San Diego and 1 day to Universal. Do you think that our pkg will tell us how to dress for the awards etc I have NO CLUE! Any and all help is appreciated. I have a cousin I hooked up with last year that I have never met whos lives in Oxnard so we are planning on meeting up .. asked her for all the tips and tricks being that she lives there .. YIPEE

THAT is an amazing prize!!!!! So Completely Jealous of you and your husband, it just goes to show that you need to enter these contests, after all, someone has to win! Why not you (or in this case, your husband!)

however, I don't know if it's worth quite what they are claiming. My Boyfriend and I went to Los Angeles for 16 days in April and didn't pay nearly that much (including our flights, rental car for 16 days and hotels!) But I was really careful about finding lots of deals. Have an AMAZING time in that Cali sun.. if you have time, try to sneak off to one of their fabulous beaches - Venice Beach was our favorite. Keep in mind that we are 24 and LOVE the busy atmosphere, funky vendors and unique people. (Venice certainly isn't for everyone) Also you should try to keep away from this area after dark, there are a lot of homeless people on the beach. They won't hurt you, but better to be safe than sorry, especially when you are travelling with Children. In any case, the Teen Choice Awards will be amazing, and you will most likely get to see a ton of really awesome celebrities (including my favorite 18 year old - Justin Bieber!)
