Your diaper cakes are really pretty. Looks like you use good quality items, too... some people make them on the cheap, and they look it. I really like the embroidered blanket.
While I know a lot of people love getting diaper cakes, I've always thought that I'd never want to receive a diaper cake as the parent of a newborn. The thought of unrolling and untying and unelasticing all those diapers while frighteningly sleep deprived makes me shudder! With a newborn, I'm lucky if I have the energy to move the diapers out of a bag and into a basket. I remember people coming over to bring little baby gifts when our first son was born, and while I put on a good front, I really had a hard time getting excited about 6-month sleepers. I learned then that the best gift to new parents whose child has just come home from the hospital is food -- and that someone coming by in the first few days should just drop things off rather than expecting to come in for a two-hour "visit".
Same thing with people using tea towels to wrap bridal shower gifts -- I was pricked several times by straight pins while opening gifts, and boy, some of those women got the tea towel wrapping so tight that it was hard to get any play in the fabric to pull the pins out. Some of the pins were actually bent!

Thanks for your comment. The first few diaper cakes that I made I did use the rolling method where I had to roll each diaper and put a clear elastic around it but I started to use the fan method where all the diapers are just fanned around and I only use one big elastic to hold it... its easier for the parents to use the diapers. I also use safety pins so the parents know exactly where it is. Ive also made cakes where I put snacks and munchies for the mom on the top tier of the cake.

Bless you, kind diaper cake maker! I'm sure the recipients of your cakes are relieved by how easy they are to dismantle and use!
(I think you should make online public service announcement videos teaching would-be diaper cake makers how to make diaper cakes using your method!)

Thanks for your kind words! Its actually not my method I have seen a bunch of you tube videos and thats the method they were using so I tried it and it works better. Like everything else in life a diaper cake is just another one of those things...some people like it and some people dont. I still think its cute
