Thread: A Nestea Chuckle at No Frills

I had a little Chuckle today while picking up my free Fiber 1 and Nestea. I don’t know why I think this is funny I shouldn’t but I do. I went to No Frills today to get the free Fiber 1 and 1 Nestea from the box I got a couple of days ago. Anyway there were 4 ladies there with 3 children packing up the cases of Nestea into their carts they had coupons for free Nestea in their hands. They cashed out before me when I got outside I noticed that they had themselves a little assembly line going on they had two other ladies out there and they had 4 shopping buggies with boxes in them and they were opening up the boxes of Nestea and putting the cans in the boxes and cutting out the coupons and sending the other ladies back into the store they were taking turns going back into the store. The children were helpful too they were very organized they would send the children away with the cart (I guess they lived close by) and as one was leaving another was coming back to fill up the cart again ha-ha. There was an employee from the store watching them (he looked dazed and confused) I guess at some point they might have to stop them but what excuse could they give them, they were using only 6 coupons at a time so I guess they started out buying 6 boxes and got their money back when they got the free ones. I can’t see them stopping until all the Nestea is all gone or at least until the store closes. I’m sure that’s what their goal is. They had some serious team work going on.
I know I shouldn’t laugh at this because they were being very greedy and the store should stop them but who am I to say if the store wants to allow it I guess its up to them. Its funny what some people will do for a bargain.Last edited by phoebew; Tue, Jul 24th, 2012 at 07:57 PM.

If they had a whole team I wonder if they were getting them for a school or something. BTW is that Nestea coupon specially marked?

They could be doing it for a school but one of the ladies there watching them said she believed one of the ladies owned a corner store so I would guess she was buying them to sell at her store. The only thing I know for sure about the coupon is it says it will refund the full amount including taxes so the item is completely free. I'm not sure if its limited one for family or not.

So that's why my No Frills has put a limit on sale items. It's because of these ladies.
Poor store employees -- they have to work harder to restock.
They also take grief from other customers complaining about not enough stock - because the stock is out in the parking lot.Last edited by Shwa Girl; Thu, Jul 26th, 2012 at 08:19 AM.

I laughed too when I read it. I'm one of the very few people who have no problems with shelf clearers, first come, first served.
Add me on twitter and I'll add you back! Just mention you are from SC!

Yup, long before I joined the GTA group, I used to shop there at least weekly; I lived in the neighbourhood at the time. I mis-read the OP's post though, it said the employee was watching them, but not where he was (and I assumed, incorrectly, that he was looking out the front of the store into a parking lot). The store in question often has NF staff in uniform smoking at the front, on Sherbourne.
And yes, the quality there tends to suck. The store is also not well laid out, and it takes a long time to get checked out.Last edited by screamy; Sun, Aug 19th, 2012 at 07:06 PM.
