Zellers will close all locations by March 2013

Just read this in the Globe and Mail. All Zellers locations, Target leased or not, will close.

Guess they want us to come in and take all the great bargains away.

Just read that. Sad for people losing their jobs but the powers that be ran that company into the ground. They had so much potential to turn it around.

Hopefully some can apply to Target.
And Nordstom's is coming north too, so there may be more jobs available.

i disliked zellers very much, but really it wouldn't have taken much sense or effort to make it a great company.

Canadians really wanted to be able to love zellers. zellers just didn't want to love us back :p. overall it is definitly a sad thing that it will be gone forever.

Good riddance to the Zellers in Bells Corners. That has got to be the most disorganized, disgusting, dirty Zellers I have ever stepped foot in. Too bad for the employees (the obviously small number they employ at that location), but that location has been on a major down-turn for years.

You are right Nightlite, a little more focus on customer service and merchandising would have gone a long way to having the company succeed. But, if every time a customer goes in and is faced with rude cashiers and indifferent cs reps, then the company is doomed to fail.
