Thread: Bulk Shelled Peanuts - Make the high-pitch noise stop!!
-
Wed, Jul 25th, 2012, 06:02 PM #1
Since we moved into our new house a bit more than a month ago, we've put peanuts out for the squirrels. Mainly because it's the only 'entertainment' we get when we sit on our balcony, as it backs onto a forest.
Well.
The squirrels are becoming accustomed to the peanuts, and now sit there and make this high pitch noise, until we give them something. We ran out of shelled peanuts, and I wanted them to STOP, so I gave them a handful of my Mom's baking peanuts (normal peanuts, just unshelled).
So.. where might one find a bulk bag of shelled peanuts, and quick? My ears thank you. This thread is currently associated with: N/APreviously CanadianBella... I'm baaack!

I'd think Bulk Barn would sell them for a good price, plus there's a $5 off WUS $10 coupon for it right now I think, so that's not too bad. And I must say that's funny too, we have a baby rabbit who is fearless and has been gobbling up our bean plants! The little guy is so bold he won't even move as you walk towards him!

If you want entertainment, never mind the peanuts, and buy walnuts in the shell. Its funny watching the squirrels try to pick them up in their mouths. We gave some to Mr Squirrel (kids named him) a few years back, and it was hilarious watching it try to get a hold of it in his mouth to carry away.

I had left the patio door open as we were getting ready to have supper out back and as I came in to get something he apparently followed me in. when we both saw each other it was like FREEZE.. he ran the other way back out the door... I screamed.. or visa versa.. LOL. he never came back. oh btw we stopped feeding them IMMEDIATELY.
