Was doing some research on behalf of a client and thought I'd share with all my buds on SC.

If you are on a fixed income (i.e.ODSP) and your income level and area qualify, you possibly could get a "forgiveable" grant from the gov't for a down payment on a home.

Here is the link to check it out. http://www.mah.gov.on.ca/Page6602.aspx

    Cheeers!

The SHRRP and AHP Extension (2009) are two-year programs that end on March 31, 2011.

Lol... you answered your own question - it's the government!

I have to admit though.... I had to call CRA a month ago for a client, and I thought I would be on hold forever and was pleasantly surprised! I waited for maybe 45 seconds and then was speaking to a live person, who spoke English well, who freely admitted she did not know the answer to my question but would put me through to someone who could. Again I thought "Oh no..." but again, I was barely on hold when another lady came on the line, answered my question right away and was really pleasant as well! How refreshing!
