Tim Horton's rant updated Aug 20

I went to timmy's today to get an iced cappucino. I came home and was sipping on it I noticed something in my mouth that made me gag. I went to the washroom and found out it was a piece of plastic from their cup. I couldn't believe this. Yes I did contact the company about it and I hope they will send me something in return. Just had to say be careful about drinking out of their cups.

Anyone know how to add a picture it wont let me

Update: They called me today telling me how sorry they were that this happened. They said that the manager would call me in the next few days to make it right.

Joel from head office called and told me could they come by and pick up the evidence. He was very nice and came to my house. He gave me x3 2$ giftcards (not for trade) and told me he normally has more. Also that he would contact the Timmy's I got it from and they would call me Monday and do something special for me.

Today I received a phone call from Joel and he told me to go to the Tim Hortons and there was 10$ gift card waiting for me. If you have a problem with a company go to the head office not the store/restaurant because you will get more out of it if you report it. So I received more then 5x my money I put into it. 16$ all together.

Not nice, but at least it wasn't a bug.

Not to be dismissive but it was just a piece of plastic.
Bugs are definitely grosser.

A friend of mine and my aunt got curdled cream in theirs, different times and locations. They sent me pictures and there was no way the employee would have been unaware of how bad the cream was-it was chunky! Needless to say, the few times I go there in a year I am cautious of everything I buy now.

I think you need to be careful about this. It seems like just a piece of plastic, but what if you had swallowed it? It could have cut your throat, causing immense pain.

Ive had this happen too! We were sitting in eating when it happened. I took it to the counter to show them and they said that the mixer must have hit the top of the cup when they were inserting it and thats how it got cut and a piece ended up inside.

Yes it is very dangerous. I have not heard back from them yet but it's only been one day I will let you guys know what happens.

i've had this happen to me.. hot chocolate.. piece of plastic in it.. i got a phonecall.. very polite.. they called.. asked me to explain did a follow up call.. but nothing in the mail (didn't even offer me a free drink!)

When I was still in highschool and working for Tim's, I have to say that as bad as it sounds, things like this happened and sometimes it was inevitable. The pace at which the employees work is astonishing, and things are done very hurriedly...so it's almost to be expected that you will not be happy with your order. If you've sent an e-mail to the head office, chances are that it was just forwarded to the manager of the store and he/she will simply have a talk with the employees to "make sure this never happens again". I have seen it all in the five years that I've worked...and the years after that I went back to (any) Tim Horton's and always asked myself "why...?" It's disappointing to get an unwanted piece of plastic, or something even worse in your order...and I do hope that you get a response, but don't depend on it too much :(

natynat thanks for your message. if i don't get a message I will call them or do something more drastic. I could have seriously hurt myself over this.

I once found a piece of plastic in my donut from TH. At first, it looked like a piece of human nail...so gross!!!!!! Let's just say I don't eat there anymore.
