I was in Value Village the other day and was able to pick up some clothes for my new niece or nephew--the tags were still on the clothes.

Paid $1 for outfits that have the $9.99 tag still on them

Here is a question for all you crafty ladies... I have many clothes to gift to my sister and the shower... how would you wrap them? I was thinking about folding them in a new laundry hamper with some laundry soap and stain remover... good idea or bad??

Also, do you use fabric softener on baby clothes?

LOVE that idea! and kudos on the Value Village finds! I recently went into a childrens' place and found 4 pairs of pants for my 3 year old that rang in at only 1.99. SCORE!

Also stain remover is a necessity i think but i dont' think i've ever really used fabric softener. I'm sure that one could go either way.

Hmmm.....well I am quite big on second-hand kids things (as long as they are in good condition) and would probably stretch it out (the $10 that is not the second-hand items lol). perhaps a vintage my little pony doll (the new ones have creepy big eyes) or barbie clothes - DD has reached the stages where she loves to dress and undress her dolls (preferrably not skanky or slutty ones lol).

And now for a brag about the awesome second-hand deals I get for DD. I go to this really great mum to mum sale in Markham twice a year and get amazing deals on clothes. Gap, Gymboree, Childrens Place - excellent condition for $1-3 each piece. I got this beautiful pink baby gap party dress DD 2nd bday party for $3 (only worn a couple times, looked brand new, similar one cost $50 in store!)!!

Also an awesome find! PS those cars slippers you sent me in the last package train fit my little owen perfectly.....he likes to eat them hahah...while they're still on his feet

I know catch up is going to be crazy on this thread. I am heading to the camper tonight and wont be back till sunday. It's going to take me a week to catch up.

Catch up is always ridiculous on these trains!!! I feel like i need to be checking in every 15 mins or face the 3 hour read every night hahaha

That's an awesome idea!! You are so creative!

Zachary has horrible ecxema, so we didn't use fabric softener either. Sometimes we throw one of the Bounce Free sheets in with their blankets, now that the kids are toddlers.

I feel your pain! My non coupon friends think I've lost my mind over the last couple of years. I used to be a shopaholic, and have now transferred that habit to couponing. As I'm bragging about getting this and that for free, they nod politely. However, I know they're so not interested. I wish they understood this wonderful world that we on SC live in.

Another idea beside the laundry basket pumpkin is the square wicker baskets so they can also use it for storing diapers, powder and what not. Micheals has awesome ones with baby designs with a 50% off coupon it would be pretty cheap!

Stickers- they make the world go around in our house, construction paper, crafty type things, Barbie clothes and probably a Kinder Egg- my girls will do just about anything for a Kinder Egg.

I had to work at putting myself on my own priority list... I can't imagine how hard that can be when you have children. BUT, I do know that it is important for all of us

i would now put it towards something baby......my son has so much it is crazy (unless you can find the white boards that are on sale at walmart for $3. then i would take 2 of those for him to do up 2 chore charts (1 for before school and 1 ofr after school) so that i am not constantly telling him what to do!!

i wouldn't be......my son talks non stop and is constantly making noise of somesort.......nap time happens often (even at 7 years old) just to get som quiet time.

i did something similar for my cousin and picked up tons of clothes and toys and such and put them all in a wicker basket and made it a tall display and wrapped it in a extra large homemade baby blanket.

also i have always used bounce in the dryer. no ill effects from it for him!!

I always used Tide free detergent and fabric softener on my kids clothes. No dyes, scents or additives.

I think a wicker basket would be an awesome way to package these. Of course having kids- we never seem to have enough laundry baskets either.
