Men are certainly strange.
When I was 15 I was coming home from downtown Toronto, took the street car, nothing weird happened.
Upon arrival in Mississauga I had a wait at a bus stop where a man approached me, was making small talk and asked if I wanted to ' smoke a dutchy ' with him. I said no.
He said, come with me around the corner, I`ll give you money.
!!!! Uh hello!!! I`m FIFTEEN! This man had to have been in his late 30's, early 40s. It was middle of winter and I was fully clothed. I called my mom to come get me and she went looking for him lmao
Mind you, I have a DD now and if this happened, I`d find a bat.

But like brad says, no matter if you're just trying to be friendly someone out there thinks you're being creepy or weird. hey its the way I was brought up to say hi and smile and be polite but these days too many girls think that's being weird. I once held a door open for this girl behind me heading into square one in mississauga, she gave me crap for it. I even had a girl say what the hell do you mean by that when I asked her if I could help her at work. The thing about wearing name tags, is so that someone can remember you if they have a compliant or compliment later on. Oh that girl kim was really good to me or that girl kim was really rude to me,etc. I had someone tell the manger at the hotel: that guy you have I think his name is Michael is the best employee you have(true story
) Then the manager knew he was talking about me,lol. Not saying there aren't creepy guys for sure along with creepy girls. You know at work I also smile and say hi and good morning to guys that come into the hotel, I hope they don;t think I'm creepy and trying to get into their pants, lol.

I find also as well if your in a rural area as apposed to urban living, people are ALOT nicer in rural areas.
You could say hello to everyone on the street and probably make small conversation as walking downtown Toronto and saying hello to everyone, you`ll probably get awkward stares and called a crazy.
