So what is considered to be garbage coupons?? I've read the term quite a bit around here and I have no idea what a garbage coupon is. For me, pet and baby coupons usually get tossed or handed off to someone else because I have no use for them. But I can see those being like gold to someone else. Is the term garbage coupon subjective, or is there a known type of coupon that is typically garbage.
Also, when the smart source comes out (or another one of those coupon flyers that come in the newspaper) are they they same coupons everywhere in Canada? In the same province??
TIA

Garbage is very subjective, but there are some very specialist ones like
- free accuchek meter with purchase of strips (which pretty much all pharmacies do anyway)
Or some not much used ones where there are so many coupons for it like
- Lakota
Baby and pet tend not to trade as high as food etc and they are only needed by certain people but they are not necessarily garbage coupons, just ones you don't need. But it would be a very rare day someone contacted you saying they wanted your lakota coupon

Depends on who you are and what you need, really. And I feel like a total noob now, because I've only ever seen one lakota coupon
Not like I'm gonna buy lakota anyway, I've heard it's pretty useless.
Aside from the ones FallenPixels mentioned, the only really "garbage" coupons I have found are the $1 off quench lotion WUB olay ribbons and $2 off venus embrace WUB secret deo.
The only people those are even a wee bit useful for are stackers, or if by chance you found clearance venus embrace on for quite cheap and the secret was on sale at the same store + you had a coupon for it.
EDIT: I should add that I would classify these as "garbage" because they rope you into spending $7-15 more to save $1 or $2Last edited by Chantel; Tue, Mar 8th, 2011 at 08:58 AM.

They still are not complete garbage though, if you NEED them right now, its better to save a few bucks than pay OOP
But if you are on trains, you often get a pile of 'HV' coupons that may be $5 off but they are $5 off a battery charger, Lakota etc, stuff most people wont buy or stockpile

Interesting perspective - thanks!!!
Now at least I don't feel so bad about my stash
I figured since I have a bunch of the usual coupons, (Sunlight, Secret, Scrubbing Bubbles, etc.) if it's stuff that I know I won't use for whatever reason, it's garbage to me. But I wasn't sure if they were garbage to someone else because they're pretty common coupons.

I totally agree, better to save a bit if you really need the item than nothing at all. I think those particular coupons I mentioned were made simply to nudge 'normal' people into buying more product, though. Still nice if you were buying both products anyway.
If you do have coupons that are "garbage" to you because you'll never use them, trade them! That coupon may be in abundance in your area, but I might have not seen it at ALL where I live, and I might really want some!

We are surely in front of coupon boom... every single day, I will receive like a package of various ads and coupons. If taking good advantage of them, they might be in good use, especially when u desperately in need of sth. but don't wanna pay that much....

beyne, does dealcetera.com have coupons? I haven't heard of this site before.
If so, are they the same that we find here or do they have others as well?Trade List /Wishlist: http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/382792-dreamcatcher1962s-trade-wish-lists-canada/#post5928904
