ING was sold to Scotia Bank

I know I will be leaving ING at the first sign of any sort of fees. There is NO reason why a bank, that profits BILLIONS from investing OUR money, should charge ANY administrative fees to us!!!

Here's crossing my fingers that only the ING name will change and not their no-fee set up which I love.

I have a separate checking account at TD where they upgraded me recently to a select service plan. It has a $5000 maintaining balance but has other perks such as unlimited transactions, a small safety deposit box, free cheques (no limit per calendar year as I understand), free Canadian certified cheques and bank drafts, the $120 TD infinite visa fee was waived, free US borderless plan with the fee waived on a TD US dollar visa card, etc. The maintaining balance is quite steep at 5K and if the balance falls for any day within the month, the monthly fee is $29.95. Will see how this goes but in case Scotiabank fiddles with the ING set-up, then TD will be my main bank.

Why would anyone PAY a bank to have their money with them?? They make BILLIONS off us...why pay for being able to use a credit card (no thanks), or pay to withdraw our own money? The concept is completely insane!

This is a huge gripe of mine...can ya tell ?
