mmm i love devils food cake! In all honesty mine were just chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter mixed in to the cream cheese frosting. Bizarrely i've never really done cupcakes before...i know weird but i think i'll need to do more. And share them

As I was sitting in Timmies Drive thru this morning (treated myself to an ice-cap) I decided to start off my RAOK's. I paid for the guy's coffee in the car behind me. Was a small gesture but hopefully it brightened his day and he pays if forward.

geez Tam.. did ya have to post the pic of the cupcakes.. bad enough ya knocked the icing up a notch to cream cheese but with peanut butter. geez girl.. what ARE you trying to do to me.
actually they look amazing. luv the swirl with the star in the middle very creative.

As I was sitting in Timmies Drive thru this morning (treated myself to an ice-cap) I decided to start off my RAOK's. I paid for the guy's coffee in the car behind me. Was a small gesture but hopefully it brightened his day and he pays if forward.

Wanted to thank you again for letting me ride -and for such an inspirational train idea... love the paying for someones coffee idea what a GREAT way to start someones day off

I did my most recent RAOK yesterday as 1 of my youngest and dearest friends (24yr old) whom is more like a daughter to me who works where I do finished her last day with us as she's going back to school for Dental Hygiene but got turned down for OSAP after giving her notice at work however she's still determined to go back to school and I'm so proud of her -- I set up a secret donation at work to help with the cost of 1 of her classes she needs to take as a pre-requisite that costs $300 and was actually able to gather up over $400 as well I put 3 boxes and 2 baskets full of food, toiletries, cleaning supplies together for her plus 5 cases of nestea and a back pack full of back to school supplies -- as well from the donations we raised she also received over $200 in grocery gift cards...I had arranged for most of my co-workers to be there last night at work so we can give her this and my girlfriend "Raven" couldn't stop crying -- I am still tearing up - it was so nice to see how so many people pulled together to help someone in need that is truely trying to better themselves.

awww i'm sorry. I'm just starting to get into this baking thing and was very excited about them You're welcome to come get one....it's only a 4 hour flight.....

OK I am officially the train copy cat. Me too Me too! And it turned out to be a $50 ROAK which wasn't exactly what i had anticipated but my husband was like "can't pick who's behind you. Cough it up!" haha. Turns out it was doughnuts and coffee for a group of special ed teachers. How fitting for the first day of school! and a well deserving group thats for sure!

Also i think i'm going to go play coupin fairy during my errands later and hopefully some other as yet unknowns acts for my ROAK day.

I loved this idea so much we've (as a family) decided to make a real effort to RAOK everyday

Today's RAOK: it's raining here and DH is working -he stopped by a co-workers house and picked him up (his co-worker usually walks the 45 min to work -even in the pouring rain). DH will drive his co-worker home as well. Not really a big thing, but hopefully will make his day a little easier.

My daughters were also the recipients of a wonderful RAOK today form Julesie-Pie. She saw in the package train thread that they love to get mail, so she sent them both cards (me as well) and stickers! It made our day!!!

My son has cerebral palsy and trust me those special ed teachers deserve coffee. They deal with a lot. Trying to get my son so walk and talk is challenging but his teacher is so excited that he will be in his class and told me all summer to email with any questions.

Going now to do one of my RAOK. My son out grew his foot plates for his bike and they cost about $40 to have made. We have learned of another CP with a son who is in need of bike plates but can't afford to buy them. Insurance doesn't cover these things and even second hand they are selling for $25. So I'm going to drop them off to our physiotherapist and she will make sure the family gets them. Every child needs the freedom of a bike.

Wow! Now that's quite the RAOK!

Yeah i wasn't expecting a $50 timmies order behind us but in retrospect i'm glad he was.




So as mentioned earlier i did hit up walmart and played coupon fairy this morning which, aside from an overheard "ooooo nice coupon! Check it out" from the aisle next to me where i dropped off some dove coupons, was pretty uneventful. I did, however, RECEIVE a nice ROAK from a couple lovely ladies as i was checking out.

I dont' drive so all my errands are run with my stroller and 2 boys in tow (3 and 6 months) with a basket hanging off my arm and coupon bag hanging off the handlebars (I can juggle with the best of them ) Unfortunately today i had 2 VERY unhappy children with me. One was hungry and teething and the other was thoroughly disgruntled because i wouldn't' let him eat any of the chocolate we passed or run around the store like a monkey on acid. So yes, check out was wonderful, with one of those very clearly anti-coupon type cashiers to boot. AWEOME!

So the ROAK was this incredibly nice lady who took pity on me and came to entertain my bellowing 3 year old so i could focus on paying. Turns out she is a genius child whisperer who had my son giggling with her particularly adorable daughter within minutes. LOVE her!

Part 2 of helpful ladies arrived as i dumped 2 bags of grocers all over the floor when i was trying to get out of the way with all our stuff so i could pack in the bottom of the stroller out of everyones way. (like i said "awesome" juggler haha) This one actually worked at walmart and stopped to help me pick up my mess adn again entertain the boys. Again, amazing! I made sure to thank her profusely and loudly as one of the managers walked by with an added "This girl is absolutely amazing" directed right at him.

So yes, do gooders are everywhere.
