Thread: Staples / HP printer ink cartridges

    I bought an HP printer ink cartridge from Staples a couple weeks ago, got home and there's no printhead on the cartridge. So the next week I go back and exchange it, bring home the new one and AGAIN no printer inkhead. So, I sit here tonite having just opened yet another one, and again, can you believe it - NO PRINTHEAD ON THE CARTRIDGE. It's a 1hr round trip to Staples from my house, and I'm tired of driving there just for this cartridge! I am soooo mad at Staples for selling the defective products and fuming at HP for sending all these defective cartridges. It's a 920XL cartridge. So, I will be returning next week and I better darn well get a cartridge with a printhead. This time, I'm going to stand there and open the package in front of the store workers and not leave until I find one with a printhead! I would go somewhere else but there is no where else around here that sells that cartridge. ARGGGGG.... Has anyone else had this problem before?

    We use HP ink and get it at Staples often because it's usually cheaper there than London Drugs (here those two stores are close to each other).
    We use 60XL and never had a problem.

    Yes, for sure, have a clerk open it before you buy next time - or in this case, exchange.

    That sucks. I would definitely open it up before you exchange it.

    So what's there in place of the printhead? Is the ink leaking everywhere?

    Before you open any more packages, check to see if the boxes are all from the same lot number or not. Could be that during manufacture or recycling/refilling, the ink cartridges missed a step. Let HP know your concern and the location of the Staples store where you have noticed the issue.
