Thread: GAPBUSTER Scam!?
-
Thu, Sep 6th, 2012, 03:37 PM #1
I have been mystery shopping with gapbuster for about 7 years. Recently Ihaven't been able to select jobs from their site and i haven't gotten paid for jobs I did in June.
I am have been emailing from the site asking WTH is going on. no contact numbers, nothing. Then yesterday I get an email saying they have to review their shopper database and change it up once in a while and I will no longer be needed as a shopper. Convenient? Hmmm. Now I can't access their website to see exactly how much they owe me. Every phone number I find online is wrong and BBB says they are no longer in business.
BEWARE...anyone else have this problem? This thread is currently associated with: N/AHey, where am I going? And why am I in this handbasket?

I also received an email saying that I was no longer needed as a shopper. So weird, I've shopped for Gapbuster for a long time. There have been no issues with my reports. The only reason that I can think of is that I haven't completed a shop for them in about 6 months and when they have called recently I haven't been taking any of the shops that they offer. The last time they called I got a little upset since it was 10 pm and I have two young kids.
The email that they sent said that the decision was final and could not be challenged. I would beware because other reputable companies would at least talk to you...they wouldn't just cut you off.

Yikes! I got an email today listing available jobs in my area. I don't know if that will make you feel better or not! Sorry for your troubles!

From their website:
Dear Shoppers,
We have been made aware that there has been an increase in the number of fraudulent emails being sent out, pretending to be from GAPbuster.
Please be aware of this and cautious in your response. Unless the sender's email address is from an ""@gapbuster.com" domain, then it is certainly NOT from GAPbuster.
If you are in any doubt, please do NOT respond, and contact us via the GAPbuster.com shopper portal.
Thanks,
the GAPbuster Worldwide Operations Team
