Hi everyone, it's been awhile. I am on a liquid diet for 2 days in preparation for some unpleasant tests as I have been unwell for months. I can however enjoy some chicken broth and jello, anyone care to join me?

Errrrr mind if I pass on that?
I'm waiting for my dh to get home from a meeting with his ds and their mother's doctor. She's in a nursing home and rapidly losing ground - but the doctor is always UNAVAILABLE to speak to..They've made an appointment at his office. Paliative care is supposed to mean - no pain - but she is experiencing excruciating pain when they try to turn her. It's so sad to see! I've got a feeling he's a kind of "just pay me and shut up" kind of dr. He certainly doesn't seem to give any "care".
That is so sad, hopefully they got some answers today and can make some changes to her care
So terrible :( I hope they get some answers and she can be comfortable:)
Kids are in bed, time to surf SC a bit then watch some TV before hitting the hay. Another long day tomorrow.
I miss those days of 7pm bed times:( Enjoy it while you can:) They grow way to fast my ds is still at college right now!!
I can only imagine. It's crazy to think how fast the past 4 years have flown by. Seems like only yesterday we were awaiting DD's arrival. lol.
My grandma always said the days are long but the years go fast:)
Abby your Grandma is a VERY wise woman!!!!

Have to update my comments about my mil's doctor - dh and his sister felt more relieved after seeing him. Why is she declining? Well it's like a perfect storm of things that a younger body could deal with and also he brain was already damaged in a stroke years ago, so her inability to get around and keep well nurished (because she can't and sometimes won't eat enough to improve her energy/wellness) plus poor circulation - and arthritis are all acting together to cause great stress on the system. He told them that this type of rapid decline is not unusual even though there is not 1 thing to point to as her major threat. They at least feel like what they are doing - just keeping her company and talking about the "good times" and that they love her - IS, in fact, the best thing to do.
Thanks for listening. And thanks for your kind thoughts!
avon - just hoping that she can be kept comfortable... I know it can be tough, one of my sisters is going through this with her MIL in a nursing home, as well.
I'll keep her in my prayers, if that's okay.
Avon I'm so sorry to hear that... I hope the Dr. gives her the care she needs.
