My mum was 2 years older. She kept breaking up with him because he was "too young!" But he was patient and just kept saying, "Well, one more date?" She decided he was much more mature than the 20-something "boys". They were also living near Manchester England and were being bombed every night. "Live for Today!"
You know, I may have got my ages mixed up- he may just have turned 20. Age of consent there was 21.
What a wonderful family story about your parents. Avon - I am glad you shared it with us. My parents were married in 1940. My Mother had just turned 21 & my Dad was an older man of 27. Right at the beginning of the war. They worked hard for what they had & they took pride in their accomplishments. I never heard them bickering or raising their voices to one another. They kept matters of concern (money woes from time to time) between them. I came along in 1958 (surprise!) & by then, they were pretty comfortable. My oldest brother is nearly 16 years older than me. I am the youngest of 5. I was starting kindergarten & he was starting university! How about that?

I'm not a big country music fan, but this touching song by Corinne Newton always causes me to get weepy.

Loocie, what an absolutely wonderful photo! There's a 24 year spread between the first and sixth kid in our family - I'm the fifth, and the sixth is 10 years younger than me. When I was starting K, my oldest sister was in nursing school.
Good morning everyone, have a marvelous Sunday.Attachment 318263

Loocie! What a beautiful picture! I love those types of bouquets! Look at the little bridesmaid' s dress with the "off the shoulder" look! Everything old is new again!
I wore my mum's head-dress that she had lovingly kept at my wedding 12 years ago.
That "Somebody's Someone" song just made me weep.
I know what you mean @avoncallingu - it gets me all stirred up inside & those tears flow.
Hello everyone.
Loocie thanks for that song, how touching! And, for introducing me to her - can't believe she's in SK and I've never heard of her.

Hello every1. :hello:
I thought I'd pop in for a minute. Jake and I went up to my girl friend's cottage for a few days. I got back late last night, but I've had a busy day. I hope you all had a good w/end.
@avoncallingu - congrats on the new addition to your family.
I guess, Sadie is now a part of 'our' family. :)
