Hiya! Hard to be on here, or anywhere I'm trying (email, contests) - for some reason, puter is realllllly slooooow.
Did a malware scan, nothing there; restarted, no change then either.
Think it needs a cleaning.... which my son was supposed to do weeks ago, argh! He's been busy evenings putting a new engine and tranny in his old stang, so I can't begrudge him that time!
Oh, well, I'll be on here when I can!

Sites won't recognize my email addy. Keeps saying please enter a valid email address even though I already did.
Weird! Will have to get DH to look at it.

Morning ladies! Man it's cold out there!!! The bus was late because the poor bus driver couldn't get the doors open... they were frozen shut!!
I have a ton of stuff to do today... I was given a bunch of bedding for a new bed I got for DS and I have to go through it and wash it all, decide what to keep and what to give away, etc. I'm also going to go through the kids clothes and get rid of anything that's too small, stained, ripped, etc.
Abby, how are you feeling? I hope you've gotten rid of that sore throat by now!
I did that on Friday sheets (sorting clothes). Such a long, boring job!

Morning check in. Good morning. Hope some of you and your kids get a better night sleep tonight. We woke up to our furnace not working. Hubby worked in HEVAC for a few years...he couldn't fix it...not a good sign. Still warmer in here than outside, but my toes are cold.
We were without heat for a day last week so I feel your pain! I hope you can get it fixed quickly, today's not a good day to be without it :(Quote:

have you run a hard disk de-fragmentation in a while? it compresses the information on your computer and reorganizes how the info is saved on the hard disk...doens't change the location of your files or anything...hopefully it'll make things run a little faster...
[go to My Computer, and right click on the C: Drive, go to properties, Tools Tab, Defragment Now...]

it's the same with de-fragmentation. instead of the information on the hard disk being stored in multiple places, where it takes the computer time to process and open the documents or programs for you, the computer organizes itself to be more efficient in it's own filing system. Nothing changes on your end.
Popping back in, had an hour nap - after sleeping two one-hour sessions last evening/night. Put ribs on to boil for broth for soup tonight, then we'll have the ribs Wednesday.
Dan, dfrag is next on my list - it takes so long, I wanted to wait til mid-morn to do it, when I wouldn't be using the puter.
But there's no lag so far in the 10 mins I've been on now, so YAY for that!
As for my leg problem, it seems to be complicated, so I won't go into it all. Seems like a severe muscle strain.
Gosh, the broth smells good - makes me want some now!
I'm not very impressed that daytime tv is reruns today because of the holiday and/or taken over because of the US presidential inauguration - some channels are running four to five hours. Sheesh!

ita it could be alot colder. but still feels really cold to me as i literally feel it in my back and it always seizes up.. makes moving harder.
caught up on alot of chores, garbage, dishes, laundry. just a few more things to do. putting some meatball soup on for dinner.
went to the store to get some veggies. they didnt' have any out yet.. the delivery was late.
