Hi Everyone!
Been a few days since I popped in. Such a busy season!
We had a wonderful anniversary night out last night (anniversary is today but we could only get a sitter last night).
Went to a nice Greek restaurant and got Saganaki (the flaming cheese). Yummy and fun. lol.
Can't believe 5 years ago we were in paradise getting married. I miss the beach! lol
Also enrolled DD into JK in January. eeeeeep.
So nervous but she's eager to go. A lot of her friends went in September but we were worried about her speech delay and held her back.
We finally just got her formal evaluation and she's above average! *woot woot* All our hard work has paid off. She's at the 70% range -meaning in a room of 100 kids her age, there would be 69 below her in terms of understanding questions, directions, etc. She's really improved her speech, we now just have to work on pronouncing F's and S's which I'm told is normal for the 3-4 year age.
This week is going much better than last week.
Still struggling with that news but hopefully I can provide lots of friendship and support.
Geesh, looks like I'm alone in here. lol.
Oh well, have to go put up some outside decorations I bought this morning at the 30% Michaels event.
Still a few weeks before I can decorate inside but totally getting excited for Christmas. The kids will be old enough to really enjoy everything. :)
Wondering what to do today. I have no plans.. unless Bell decides they have another imaginary problem with my account.
I love lazy days..
all alone Lola?...Dan-o here! :)
Thank you for the updates Lola :)
Sounds like you've been a busy bee!
Happy anniversary, and sounds like DD is one smart developing cookie.
Christmas decorations...my place has been fully decorated for a good week and a half now...  yes...decorating all done!
I'm actually just supposed to be popping in for a quick hello...so, back to the paper work....boo-urns...
have a wonderful afternoon peeps, i'll be back before i leave for the day.
I have a bunch of pinterest links I need to go through. If i'm in the middle of pinning from someones boards, and I have to get offline, i'll save the link in my email. I have 7-8 drafts with about 4 links each. Maybe that'll be what I do today.. getting through those.
:hello: hi dan, bye dan
My donut is raw in the middle. -_- So much for homemade donuts
45 posts until I hit 11,000!
lola, thats really awesome for your daughter. made me teary eyed! my 2 year old has an appointment in january for her speach assesment...it's taken almost a year to get in.
So glad you guys are pro active about speech! 2 thumbs up:)
Remember that a child's speech is still developing until age 6:)
DS was a late talker - he started talking around 18mths or 2yrs (thats when he started saying one word at a time, not sentences). He started JK at 3, which helped him a lot with talking and pronounciation. Now, in SK, he only has problems with pronouncing "L" - he says it more like "W" so Lion is Wion. But, he is the only kid in his class who can read, so his teacher loves having him read to the class during story time, everyday and he is so proud of himself.
DD is sitting right besides me, and this child can say over a 100 words, but the only one she says a million times a day is "mama" "mama" "mama" - omg, i need ear plugs!! lol, she's still doing it right now, lol driving me bananas!
