I was overcharged last week for the Zingers mini cakes and I didn't realize until I got home. So this week I made a point of checking my receipt before I left the store.
I bought one pack of the chocolate and one pack of the vanilla and the shelf said $1.99 each type.
They rang through at $2.49 on the receipt. So I went to customer services and she adjusted the price so I got one pack for free and one at the corrected price.
My question is that as they were different flavors with different barcodes shouldn't I have got them both free? I queried it and she asked the supervisor who said no, one free and one adjusted.
I don't know the official SCOP to stand and question it without knowing for definite I am right, so I just left. This thread is currently associated with: Real Canadian Superstore RCSSBuilt Bars 15% off sitewide, free shipping when you spend $25. User the code LOUISE2020 to get another 10%

It is a little confusing when it comes to two items of different flavours because stores do view them as the same item but since they have different barcodes they should both be free. Stores really need better SCOP training, I have bought 4 of one item (all same scent) and the price was wrong and the cashier SCOPed all 4

I did point out to her that they were different flavors with different barcodes and she said it didn't matter. I have found the scop pdf, it is only 5 pages so next time I will take it with me. It quite clearly says if the items are identical you only get one free and the rest price adjusted. Identical being the word - chocolate and vanilla are not identical and the bar codes are not identical, therefore the products are not identical

Stores may view it as the same product, but SCOP and Loblaws would agree you should have got both free... as per their policies!
I went over this in great length with Loblaws HO... and in the end my store was 100% retrained, as they had no clue as to what and how to follow SCOPPlease vote for our summer traditions on Facebook

Yup, both free.
No matter what the product, if the UPC is different, it's a different product.

I was picking up pizza's at Superstore a while ago and the 5.99 sale was done (though I forgot!) but the huge yellow sign was still up so they called and checked and the supervisor came over to help the cashier and gave me one of each flavour of pizza free-all were the same brand.

Does all the stores follow SCOP? I was at shoppers the other day, they were having the Aveeno on sale at $9 in the flyers, it rang at orig price $14.99, they just did price adjustment when I told them about it.

If you still have the receipt & a flyer from last week showing the lower price ..you can still go in and get SCOP . You don't always have to get SCOP in store ..if you notice the error later on ( I believe its within 30 days ) you can still go & claim SCOP .
Not sure if its worth it driving all the way back just for that ..but if you are going there anyways you can still claim SCOP for last weeks wrong scanning .

Try this:
"Scanning Code of Practice If the scanned price of a non-price item is higher than the shelf price or any other displayed price, the customer is entitled to receive the first item free, up to a $10 maximum. If a Code of Practice problem cannot be resolved at the store level, please call 1-866-499-4599 to register your complaint."
