Thread: Potential Chocolate Promo Problems (renamed)

    Hi: ws in to my shoppers they had 12bars, was told that the 8000 points promo has been stopped as of Monday morning due to error. So i did not purchase any. Came home, looked at Shoppers web site BUT the promo 8,000 points still on thier site says until Sept 23.

    So I just called in to shoppers head office. 1 - 800 - 746 - 7737. Head office informed me the promo right now has been stopped / on hold as they are all awaiting further information, said it was a HUGE GLITCH. I asked if they will take points away: She said she does not know whats going to happen at this point.

    So as I expressed my confusion, head office also does not know any more than I do at this point. But she took my phone number and said when there is a final decision over whats up or what is going to happen with points will call me back.

    This is insane, i have already given 20 bars away. so i can not get a refund on those. i bought over 80 these damn bars. Only because of the points. If they made some mistake - they should have to just suck it up. As i was speaking with her - i just felt ill. oh i really hope they don't take back points but they may. Well i told her they really need to atleast take it off their website. I could just throw up right now. I spent 75,000 points on these bars, sure maybe they will give me a refund on the bars ( minus the 20 i have given away - probably out that $ 40.00 ) but i already know they won't give me the 93,000 points I actually profitted from them. If they take my points back , i will never step foot in another shoppers ever again!

    can everyone pleasssse phone shoppers and complain. so atleast they know that customers will be quite upset if they lose points over this chocolate bar promo. Maybe call into you local shoppers to let them know your confused and concerned about your points.

    Oh dear! Hope we don't lose our points They'd sure have a bunch of upset customers over this!

    There is absolutely no way this was an error.
    Its on there website and multiple stores had tags under the chocolate bars.
    They have already addressed these concerns on their FB page

    Posts like this make people panic.
    Do not flood head office with calls. Then people with legit problems can't get through.
    And certainly DO NOT call your local stores. Thats rediculous. Even if headoffice was to take the points away
    there is NOTHING that can be done at the local level.

    I wouldn't be surprised if they did end the promo early because people got way too greedy and went over board.

    They wont end it early, they will just do what they did before and not stock the item and actually limit it to one per transaction as they originally advertised it at

    Both the store & Head office both said today to me that this promo was a " Error " " Huge Glitch ". If you doubt what I am saving then perhaps you should call into head office or your local shoppers for yourself.

    Yes and it was Still advertised on Shoppers offical website as of 7:30 this morning. I informed bot the store & head office of this. Inaddition all the " 8000 points" tags were also removed from the top left hand side of the price tags.

    I understand that nothing can be done at the store level. that was not my point. my point is that since shoppers head office is unclear if points will be taken back, people might express thier upset so that head office will hear from the stores how unhappy customers will be. I never said they were definatley going to take back points, i said they may, as head office told me they did not know what was going to happen with the points.

    No they have not stopped this promotion due to anyone being greedy. They said it has been stopped due to a Huge Glitch. But don't take my word for it, just pick up your phone and give them a call. If they tell you anything different than they told me, perhaps you could be kind enough to share it with us.

    I believe that since this was their error, they should absorb the consequences of it not the customers.

    I know, and i just checked again, it is still being advertised. I am so confused with this, if people are still getting points and if shoppers is still adverticing it, i just dont know why my store and the head office lady ( Anna ) would tell me the promo is stopped.

    I find it hard to believe that a glitch can last on their website and tags on the store shelf for a week. They are a huge publicly traded company and would never let a glitch stay up that long and would never admit to a customer that they made a mistake. That doesn't give shareholders confidence in the company. Sometimes the one person you contact at head office may be misinformed. It happens. I have worked at a headoffice where half the company has no clue what the other half is doing. This is panicky thread #10 maybe?

    Dont panic, l was there yesterday and promo is still on. Kraft is paying them the value of the points. Why would they stop it. Shoppers is not losing out because of this promo

    Sounds lime someone thinks posting that here will dissuade people from buying them and leave stock for them.

    Even is you believe the op, and you believe the op accurately said what the SDM csr said, where did SDM say ANYTHING about taking pints away the op used as the most provocative title possible??? NO WHERE
