Here is an interesting article about organic products from Scientific American.
Are lower pesticide residues a good reason to buy organic? Probably not.
Someone commented on the story with this synopsis (I concur with his observations) :
Here is my Summary of the article
a) Food contains pesticides, both synthetic and organic.
b) Organic food is assumed to contain a reduced amount of pesticides. This is only partly true;Yes it contains reduced amount of “synthetic” pesticides, however the foods may contain large quantities of organic pesticides, whose harmful effects are neither studied nor documented.
c)Additionally, the author argues that a presence of pesticide doesn’t automatically imply that the food is unsafe. The use of pesticides is regulated and the quantities that are present in foods represent a fraction of the quantity that is considered safe for human consumption. This thread is currently associated with: N/A

We do not go out of our way to buy organic. I buy what's on sale, if it came out of the ground it's organic

You guys really inspire me to want to keep going further towards removing the meat from at least my own diet if I cannot change the whole family. Thanks again for recommending it DH666.
