I am finding it incredible hard to build a usable coupon stash that will make a dent in my shopping bill. I have a small stash of single coupons from resent tear pads and such.
How long did it take you all to amass your coupon binders or what ever you use...I am starting to get discouraged very quickly....This thread is currently associated with: N/A

It took me about 1 month.
I bought a roll of stamps, and traded for bundles with people who were offering to help newbies out...let me tell you, they helped and then some.
I learned about emailing companies, signing up for newsletters, and the online coupons available (save.ca, websaver, brandsaver and gocoupons).
I have found that the biggest dent I have made is in cleaning supplies and personal hygiene supplies as I can stack at LD. Groceries....I save $20 here, $10 there....
Be patient and it will happen
I am currently grossly behind on ratings... I promise to catch up asap...life has just become super duper crazy!

It took me about a month. You need to read up under the coupon tab here. Have some coupons mailed out to you from save.ca. Check flyers, magazines and newpapers for coupons. Make a trade of the ones you do not need. Keep a updated wish list here of the products you are needing. Some people will trade a bunch of coupons for a few stamps. In time it will pay off.

Hi
I've only been doing it a month or so and I feel like I have quite a decent stash now. I am however not finding the higher value coupons and FPCs. I found that trading got my stash up. I get the coupons for the things I want and some people are very generous and you end up with a big envelope
I also have a London Drugs within the hour of me. So I got really organized and did a good haul one day.
HTH I'm still learning too!

About a month for me also. I ordered from all the sites, emailed companys and did a trade. I think it was 3 or 4 stamps for over $50 worth of coupons. I also got on a couple newbie trains. After a month I had a lot of coupons, some I needed, some I used for trading. I also got better at spotting them in the stores! I never realized there were so many coupons out there.

Kayleena - I would be happy to help you my Barrie friend!! I have a rediculous amount of coupons that I won't use! I would be happy to make you a big fat envie! Message me and let me know what all your looking for and I'll put it together! Mailing an envie that big would cost a fortune so maybe we could do coffee! PM me and let me know what I can put together for you!
What do you mean you didn't use a coupon??????

It doesn't take too long. It probably took me about 3 months before I was satisfied with my stash of coupons. Getting on trains really helps. I know you have to put in $ for $ but you then get a chance of increasing your variety of coupons. Make sure to go to grocery stores once a week to collect a few of each you see. To help put in the trains. And order all the on-lines ones. And try to get all the free ones that come in the flyers or papers. I also traded stamps for a bundle or 2 when I first started. It really helped get things going.

It didn't take me that long but I have access to thousands of inserts that people like to trade for.
Buy some stamps and do some trades!

I am starting to trade for stamps, I have to pick more stamps up on thursday...can't get out before then, but I guess maybe I was having an off day or something....just going through the fliers and didn't see many deals for the coupons I have...I don't drive so I can't get to every store all the time...guess I got overwhelmed a bit. Thank you for all your help everyone.

You are not alone in feeling overwhelmed! I also started to feel really discouraged if I didn't get something for free or less than a dollar! I have a really great friend who started me couponing though, and she's so supportive, and my DH is really encouraging and so I took a deep breath and accepted that it's going to take some time to really get up to speed.
Be gentle with yourself and remember! You're doing better than you were last month, right? So yay, you!

It's taken me a long time to get a good stash. I guess it depends on where you live and what coupons are available there.
I take any coupons I can get from grocery stores, magazines & newspapers to trade with others for the coupons I need.
I've phoned & emailed numerous companies, it depends on how much time you have to do that too and some of the companies no longer mail out coupons.
Are you from Barrie? I'm within half an hour of Barrie and would love to trade with you if you like. Just PM me if you want to trade. I'll look at your list! =)

I don't have a list up...I admire everyone that has put one up. I find them really hard to follow and confusing...probably due to the fact I can't read large amounts of text on a screen at one time.
I guess I should try and put up some sort of list though
Thank you @divinedivagirl
