Making the best of it

So I was in another car accident in a parking lot. Even though it was clearly the other guys fault and he admitted it I am 50% responsible so there goes my insurance again. That is the dumbest rule ever.

So needless to say I haven't been able to work. I think my brain damage has also gotten worse so I am not sure what I am going to do when my body is doing better. My previous functioning was grade 6 I have no clue what it is now. So anyway......

I have opened my costume shop on kijiji http://edmonton.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-...AdIdZ410001789.I have also started doing custom costume orders. I have always made my husband and mine (when we were younger) and I always make my daughters (either from scratch or alter other costumes). I have 4 people who have placed orders. My homemade Harry Potter Ties have been popular as well. Before my car accident I talked to my dance teacher (I take burlesque and) I may be making the class costumes. She said that she knows dancers that are always looking for things.

I may have the beginnings of a part-time job. I am quite excited as I have always like making costumes (never cared for making clothes). It is a good thing I saved my kijiji dollars and bought myself that serger!

The biggest problem is people who have such unrealist expectations. Can you make a pink body suit and tutu for $20? I had to reply that she could purchase these items at her local dance store. I have to buy the material, often design the pattern or alter a similar and pay myself.

If anyone needs anything for their costume let me know. I have been getting alot of enquiries about aprons? They seem very popular this year. Any way I am kind of excited. If I could get a part-time job to provide a steady income then do my costume making on the side, the accident may be a blessing.

A heads up..have you thought of doing unusual costumes for Halloween.

Our da. likes to have a different kind of costume than the usual. One year she got an old cardboard box and made a washing machine out of it. Her friend went as a laundry basket.

This year she wants to go as sandwich. We are going to Goodwill to see if we can find white or brown fabric then put some green material(lettuce) and meat colour. My idea is to use velour to put it together as I m don't sew.

So far I have made a baseball for someone in California, a simple white ruffled apron, a wasp costume for my daughter, an apron based on a character called Princess Peaches. I am now working on a cosplay costume, this is going to be my first tight fitting costume. I have an idea for the pattern just got to make one.
