My DD just sprouted 4 teeth when she turned 10 1/2 mths so she was a late bloomer... However, she prefers solids since we started her at 4 mths as per the paediatrician and now se eats everything ad anything she can chew with her gums... Cheese, bread, dissolvable crackers, grapes, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, etc. She's even had cooked salmon and other foods like macaroni & cheese but I'd say she's the exception cuz she's always tried to copy us, been interested in what we were eating and we call her the show-off cuz she tries to eat independently then if she fails, she has a fit. If she succeeds, she claps her hands for herself! She just recently transitioned to Natrel Baboo too... Has 3 meals a day plus snacks, plus Natrel Baboo.
All babies are different... I know a friend whose son is 9 1/2 mths and still gags on puréed food... And he's still a happy, active, healthy lil guy :)
Nobody believes my DD eats like a horse by the way she looks... This was the bento box lunch & snack box I made for her to get her through the day while I was at work. This is something I'd expect a 2-3 yr old would eat!! My crazy lil DD ;)

Photo is of: Whole wheat sandwiches shaped as animals with cooked chicken slice in the middle, marble cheese shaped as pigs, cucumber pigs, peeled grapes & blueberries.
Sorry I went on a tangent for a lil bit...
my hubby is 14 years older than me too!!!
i finished shopping today. hoping that i have everything that i need!!!
you could also try puff wheat, but don't fret, your little one will let you know when they are ready. staying on the jarred baby food is not the end of the world. they are still getting all the nutrition that they need!!
hehe thanks everyone, you're definitely making me feel A LOT better about it.
and OMG....that is the cutest kid lunch I've ever seen!! definitely need to get some of those!!
I have some Similac Cheques...Could anyone use them? I won't, and I don't want them to be wasted :)
Munchkin & I are going home today! Woohoo! It's been 9 days since we left (if you include today -which I am because it feels like a month! Lol). Don cleared the bedroom up enough so that we can sleep in there & my goal/hope is that I can putter away at packing if we're at home. Small stuff gets moved Dec 1, big stuff will go Dec 8 (assuming we get the place we want!). Talk about a quick pack/move! MIL is coming on Friday to basically hold munchkin so I can pack up the kitchen etc (DH'S accepting no responsibility there as he doesn't want to be involved if something breaks....I have an unhealthy attachment to my beautiful white dishes. Don't ask...it's weird). I wish I could figure out my friggin Monkeywear wrap though. I can't seem to get her into it without me feeling like I was breaking her. She won't sleep more than 5 minutes without being held (usually) which is going to make packing 'interesting'...Kelly Clarkson's 'Stronger' is my anthem though!
First priority tonight though is to find the box where I've out my buddy's stuff and dig it out of the rubble! Pretty sure the wrapping is going to be a hack job (at least by my standards) so I appologize in advance! Next year, I'm hoping to have 2 hands and some sanity to be better with everything! Lol (jinxing myself for sure!)
Sounds like a quick move! I'm planning to move in May and am already in a panic over packing ;)
For the wrap you're using, is it a stretchy one? Either way, try Youtube for some videos. I prefered my Ergo once my boy was able to hold his head up but there are other carriers out there like it that you can use with a new baby. I didn't like my cuddly wrap, it was stretchy and just made us both sweaty. I used a pouch sling for ages with him though, it was comfortable and easy to pop him in and out. Any way.
MeShell - I did babyled weaning, so no purees, and my son had his first tooth at 16 weeks, however he didn't eat a lot of actual food for the first year, he played with it more. There is a saying commonly used in baby led weaning "food before 1 is just for fun". They get their nutrition from milk/formula so really don't stress over how much is eaten. My boy is now almost 3 and will eat anything you put in front of him, if he feels like it ;) He only eats when he's hungry, and then will somedays eat only the protein or the veggies, or fruit. I don't stress over it, though other people do lol. Every kid is different. And how are teeth a milestone? you can't do anything about when teeth are going to pop in.
Buddy and little buddy your packages are on their way!! For those worried about shipping costs I just sent 2 copy paper boxes one weighing 13lbs and one weighing 16lbs and my total cost was under $40 with all of the fees and taxes added :) I was quite surprised, I thought with the size of the boxes it would have been much more. I used my Venture 1 card and got both expedited shipping with insurance :)
It's Patty Smyth's birthday today :excited:!!

buddy question: Do you or your daughter have an IPhone?
no to an iphone :(
i was just coming to say... is it wrong when im on and checking this thread and on it more than anything on SC lately?? lol
well i can knock couponsrule off my list.. i don't have a daughter ;) or an Iphone ;)
why does my battery icon on the bottom of the screen have an x on it.. but its charging?
My daughter is 4, so while I guess she could have a phone, that would be pretty silly!
Battery: mine was plugged in, but the plug at the converter was out about 2 mm (literally) and it wouldn't charge! Double check to make sure all connections are tight, maybe?
