I like pants and a top for pj's, I don't like flannel or fleece..TOO HOT for me and I prefer my tops to be dark (not see through) so I can wear them around the house without a bra on...I'm sure you ladies know what I mean..LOL

I do not sleep naked, I wear bootie shorts and a Tank. But I love my flannel PJ for around the house it was actually on my list Not fleece though to hot.

Buddy was there a gift you had always wanted growing up that you never got? Not that I can remember.. by the time I was 5/6yrs old, my sisters were out of the house, so I admit I was very spoiled..

Not sure if it was for Christmas, but I wore out 2 Easy Bake ovens... they were so much fun! Also, my Sesame Street Playhouse.. I think this might have been a hand-me-down from my sisters... but I loved it. Gave it to my nephew when he was born.. don't know what happened to it..

Buddy....what is your favorite restaurant? My favorites are a local Thai or Mexican place... but we do go to Boston Pizza occasionally. Subway fairly often. And of course, Timmies is my daily stop on the way to work!

Do any of you ladies (and couponclepto, don't want to exclude him LOL) have an advise for me on what's the best type of dog food (not the brand but rather if it's for Senior, Puppy, Adult dog e.t.c) to donate to the local food shelter?

Last year I won a year supply of dog food from Oliver & Pets (our local Pet Store). When I filled out a ballot I had to specify the brand of dog food that I was using, I wrote Nutro. My prize was given in a form of 12 x $50 vouchers for any Nutro products. I was super excited but, as some of you know my dog is a toy poodle and he REALLY doesn't eat much. A bag of 5 lbs Nutro food lasts him couple of months, if not more. I still have 6 vouchers left ($300) that expire in Jan 2013, and was thinking that it will be a good idea to buy some dog food and donate it to a local SPCA. Conveniently there were $4 Nutro coupons in the last insert, which makes it $10/bag!

I would just take them to the Humane Society, myself...

so I have just email all my family our christmas visiting schedule. my mother-in-law wants to monopolize all of christmas and I am not having it. I didnt want to talk to her on the phone about it, so I sent an email. now i wait for a response....

!!! I am in the EXACT situation and I think it is ridiculous...When my husband was growing up, they didn't even go see his grandparents, but my mother-in-law is insistant that our family will be at her house Christmas day...NOT HAPPENING!
It is supposed to be about the kids, and if they insist on having something at their house as opposed to ours, then they can choose a different day! (Note: She is insistant it will be at her house, but I am the one that cleans her house and cooks the meals as it is too much for them, so really that means that in my busiest month and on my busiest day of the year, I have to do it all at TWO houses; mine and hers!)
We have four kids and are the only ones on that side of the family with a bunch of young kids; Have some consideration and think of the kids before yourself!

Just made a HUGE batch of hamburger parmesan cassarole. A double batch for the oven and two into the freezer. Does anyone else batch cook?? Favorite recipes if so?

Definately! not sure about favorites; a nice meat sauce is always handy to have as it has so many uses; a bit of a staple in my freezer is Quiche b/c I make a ham & cheese one each time I cook a ham, and that is a super easy meal for my MIL to just pull out of the freezer, pop in the oven and it's done.

Oh MY Missbee I made this Tuesday night for a pot luck lunch Wednesday, I split it and we had it after my kids life gaurding class, It is soooooooo good, my kids actually packed it for lunch. I went to get the left over I had brought home from the lunch and it was gone I think they ate it for breakfast. I am heading to the store tonight to buy more ingredients YUMMY thanks for sharing.

I know! Everyone loves it, and it is so simple!

Its so hard and I just don't know what to do for her! I know she is different from other kids. But she is such a good kid at heart and she is constantly crying because she doesn't want to go to school. I am moving in the new year to a smaller town and I am hoping and praying things will get better!

We had seen a behavior Doc here in London when she was 5 we new she had OCD and I thought possibly ADHD. The doc said yes to both but b/c of her other medical problems (at the time just 3 brain tumors) he thought it was too early for meds for ADHD. And I was worried about what meds could do!

So he retired and we were referred to another doctor. And he saw her for about 5 mins and said nope its not ADHD its Sensory Integration Disfunction and dismissed the ADHD.

All her teachers thinks she has it and I have thought so for a long time and everything is just getting so much worse!

I would love any info or help!!

You DEFINATELY need to get in touch with student support ( generally the VP ); they perefer not to test for ADD/ADHD before grade 3 or 8 years old unless you are willing to pay the $2500 to have it done. The teacher/support staff should definately be accomodating, especially in light of the fact that it is not just a new issue. I have been Chair of the Parent Council at the school since my kids started there, and I am also on the PIC, so I have daily communication with the staff and am uber involved in everything at the school...If you have the time, try to get involved in your childs classroom and at the school; they are supposed to be working with you in the best interest of your child, so you need to make it clear what your expectations are, and find out what their plan is to work with you to help her attain those goals.
If you feel you are getting nowhere when dealing with the teacher & student support, I would then contact admin (Principal) and if nothing comes of that or you feel you do not have the support you need, I would then contact the Supervising Princial, as well as the Special Education coordinator at the school board (Yeah, I am a tattle tail, but they are MY KIDS! There is nothing more important, and if I am not the biggest advocate for them then who will be? I refuse to accept anythign less than what is in the best interest of my children No is not an option. I have been in a similar situation (dealing wtih ADD & a learing disability, not the medical issues in addition!) and have had to approach trustees at the board office to have the issues resolved. Where there's a will there is a way!
BTW: ALL SCHOOL BOARDS IN ONTARIO HAVE ANTI-BULLYING POLICIES; IT IS MANDATED MY THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION: they are actaully trying to pass a bill right now banning bullying so that is would actually become illegal (not sure how the intricacies of that would work, but...)
Anyway; my advise is just DON"T GIVE UP! Be insistant, and if you don't get the help & support you need, continue to move on up the ladder. FYIL There is the Education Quality and Accountability office as set up by the government that may be able to direct you as to what other steps you could take or who esle you could contact to get help

LOL Spec. Ed teacher? I tried to have someone help her last year.. and there wasn't anyone helping her! And I have mentioned it to her teacher this year so I hope with the team meeting (whenever that is happening.. was told last week there will be one!)

Didn't celebrate Christmas a a kid; Best gift I EVER received was: (Drumroll, please!)
After I was induced early for Justin (he was IUGR and literally had a kidney that didn't even form), he was in the NIC unit for some time. For Christmas that year, my nephew bought one of the gold leaves for the NIC tree at the hospital, which means he made a substantial donation in my name to the NIC unit. BEST PRESENT EVER! I bawled! SO THOUGHTFUL! I had spent a good chunk of time in the hospital during the pregnancy as he was high risk, and he was just SOO small when he was born; if not for the NIC unit, he would not be here with me; I am getting teary eyed now just thinking about his incredible gift!
