Hi - I haven't been on here much this year because in May I had a rod break and been recovering from the surgery to correct it and I found pinterest. lol my goodness pinterest is an addiction! anyways I have continued to deal with a lot of pain since the may surgery. My surgeon hoped it was just to do with the surgery and I would heal and it would get better. but it hasn't. I really do not want to go through a fourth surgery and so soon after the last surgery. typically it takes about a year to recover from a back surgery so it isn't odd that I am still healing from it. another one would be tough. the thing is that my surgeon doesn't know what is causing all the pain I keep dealing with. it is the same pain that I was getting spinal injections for the the last couple years. I have to go through more tests to hopefully find out the reason for all the pain. the sad thing is that I should be recovering and the pain should be decreasing but it is increasing lately. I am having more and more difficulty staying up for over an hour. going in to town to run errands is getting very difficult and I can only manage to go in about twice a week because it takes at least a day to recover. Sorry if I am complaining-I am just getting sooooo frustrated!!! my first surgery was Oct. 15 2007.
There is a chance that I could avoid another surgery depending on what is wrong. If a surgery couldn't fix it then I wouldn't have to go through it. But that is good and bad because I would likely be stuck with this pain then. I would likely get spinal injections to help with the level of pain I deal with but it sounds like it would be a rest of my life thing. right now I am feeling I just need to accept it and figure out how to live with what ever ends up happening. but it isn't easy for sure. thanks for listening.

oh and support is appreciated!
on bad days like today it is extremely painful to even walk around and I end up having to stay in bed most of the day just due to the level of pain while moving around. thankfully I have my laptop and my kindle and my cat keeps me company so it isn't all bad.
it just sucks.

Thanks Anisa, Natalka, and Kitty. Sorry I didn't say anything sooner. Still waiting to hear from my specialist. I did finally get the ct scan on Dec. 17 but I have to wait to get in to see my specialist to get the results. He is pretty backed up so it could be awhile. All this waiting really sucks.
