Somehow, I've always thought that the Pharmacist/Owners are not really franchise owners who make an initial investment to purchase a franchise, but that they take on the role of Pharmacist/Owner at a store while being guaranteed a salary of at least $100,000 by Shoppers. They then make more income based on the profitability of their store. I assume the cost of points programs get subtracted from those profits, though the promotions would drive more business as well. I remember reading this someplace... Unless someone is able to confirm this, I'll have to spend some time later figuring out where I once read that information!

I think the whole thing is wrong! Shoppers Drug mart is part of a franchise they offered 20x points and decide not to honor them as they please, you were not stealing you were doing transactions/offers that they posted in their flyers to get more people to shop there as they are so overpriced, what a weird store, glad to hear that they offered you 50.00 as most stores wouldn't,without the shoppers promos and Optimum cards they would be out of business!

They called again today and left a message. I don't think much will come of this.

I must be totally out of the loop on the BP deals.... I never seen the kraft one. I am not really following you on the transactions....BUT I would tell them to stick their 50 card where the sun dont shine. 50 for all that bs seems a lil cheap to me. I would also really consider not shopping at sdm anymore.
A lot of ppl probably remember the tragic instances where ppl's points were all gone!!!!!! I hope sdm gets their *ship* together.

To me, the bottom line is: you are still feeling bad about the way they treated you.
I don't think it's about the value of the GC they are offering, or the right or wrong way to shop during promotions.
I recommend you do what you need to do to put this behind you.
In my personal opinion, contacting the newspaper or a lawyer would make it worse. Perhaps discussing what is bothering you with the head office rep who is calling and asking for a meeting with some of the store employees to try to clear up any misunderstandings will help. You don't want to feel awkward every time you go there, clear it all up now.
Just my 2 cents!

The fact that the cosmetics lady cleared the shelf in front of you is the most astonishing!! what a ****...!!!! ( open to interpretation)
I'd just stop going there every day and hope that after a month or two nobody says anything if you do.... I'd still be weirded out shopping there forever on... and probably Boycott it !
