How can they make you give them the coupons if they don't know you have them?

Because they know me and know I always have coupons. They ask me before they even start ringing in my purchases, and tell me they have to input the coupon with the product as they were told.

Mine ALWAYS scan the coupon as they do the item and I have never not got points

Today I used $22 in coupons all entered with the items and I still had the correct base points

I purchased 6 of the Huggies packages at noon today and used the $.075 coupon from SmartSource (I think). I also bought something else to bring me over the $50 threshold. I was being served by a man (maybe he was the assistant-manager...not sure). The total after my coupons was $48.xx. He was adamant I had to spend the extra $1.xx in order to get the 20x the points. When I told him I would get the points he said no I would not. Anyway he had scanned my coupon so I was happy. He was very nice and polite but he still did not know his store's policy about coupons. I wish I had a copy of the coupon policy with me.

When I told him that sometimes I only spend $25 out of pocked and still get the 20x points he said I was VERY LUCKY!!!
Hahaha he really did not believe me!

So we can use coupons to bring down our OP total and still get points? As long as the sub total before coupons was 5o?

yes that is correct. If you spend $50 before tax, and get your total down to only .50 you will still get 20X the points on the subtotal! Woohoo!! Love that about shoppers... I spent $160 before coupons today, and brought my total down to $101, and I will get 20X on all of it. Several times I have spent $75 for 18500 points and had my coupon total down to only about $5-8 OOP and I still get the 18,500 pts. The cashiers often will not believe you, but it is correct, and you are not cheating the system. So how I do it to keep it all clear, I give them my optimum card, let them scan my purchases, then I am able to double check my subtotal (to ensure its over $50) then I give them my 20X coupon, they scan it, THEN I give them all my coupons, I have never had anyone refuse my coupons at this point. If they do, I always keep the policy in my purse so I would give it to them, and then they would go ahead Happy shopping.

oh BTW the Huggies wipes refills are a great item to stock up on if you use them. 3600 pts per package, with the 20X coupon today

^ Today's bonus points are not rewarded instantly. I believe they'll be rewarded next week (someone here might have the exact date)
